There's a code—a bro code I take very seriously—but some kind of mistletoe-fueled voodoo hijacked my better judgment. Maybe it's the possessed mistletoe playing matchmaker with a demonic flair. Could be the manifestation panties I can't get out of my head. Or her cute little librarian glasses invite me to her stacks, if you get my drift.

And you'll never convince me that the thigh-high striped socks she wears to "keep warm" are anything less than a tactical maneuver designed to leave me putting a book over it—and I'm not a big reader.

Everything about her is a snake charmer's symphony, conducting a full-scale assault on my co—er, anaconda.

When Nick asked me to give his baby sister a ride… did he really expect me to survive her thigh-high socks and my rapidly deteriorating self-control?

Holly and Chance

Good narration - I love Thomas Oakley but I have to confess I'm not a huge fan of Lucy Rivers' male voice.

Holly and Chance - the families have been friends forever. Last year, Holly's brother got "together" with Chance's sister (while Chance was deployed) so I found Nick's attitude toward H&C a little OTT.

Holly wants to be a success, always dreamt of taking over the family business. But her father treats her like a child, patting her on the head and telling her to let the men take care of things. But she's smart, and determined. I really wanted a scene where H&S tricked Blake with fake info (no spoilers but anyone who's read the book probably knows exactly what I mean).

Chance seems to be the only person who is totally in Holly's corner. For some reason, she thinks her presentation will go over better if she and Chance don't give in to their attraction until after the fact - I didn't understand the why of that at all. But his support of her doing what she needs to do is really heartwarming.

Anyway - cute story. I liked the angle of "Nick has no basis for complaint considering the whole do as I say not as I do attitude just won't fly". And the haunted mistletoe.
