Pull off the swankiest New Year's benefit gala the city has ever seen? Kaitlyn Armstrong has got this. Do it with the high school rival who once humiliated her? Kaitlyn Armstrong so does not have this…

Kaitlyn Armstrong has a mission this holiday season: pull off a glitzy fundraising gala to redeem her family's reputation. After all, besides one tiny—okay, catastrophic—failure in high school, Kaitlyn is her family's rock. Who better to trust?

But then Kaitlyn meets the architect she must work with to pull off the event. Micah Croft is the man who broke her nose, her heart, and her perfect academic record in high school.

Now he's breaking her eight-year streak of avoiding him.

Kaitlyn fell under his spell once, and it ruined graduation. Distraction means failure, and she can't fail again—not when it will cost her family public humiliation in front of Austin's social elite.

When the gala plans go wrong, and Micah is the only part that feels right, can Kaitlyn risk choosing him over finally making up for her mistakes in the past?

Dropping the Ball is a closed-door romcom featuring old high school rivals with a strong dose of Gilbert and Anne competition and pining. It's a holiday romance with all the sizzle and swoon, but no spice.

I loved this story! Such a fun way to start the new year by listening to this delightfully sweet romcom! The characters are layered and flawed, each dealing with different family dynamics and I loved the growth of each one. The story is smart and humorous and I loved the back-and-forth between Kaitlyn and "Micah freaking Croft" 😂 This audio book had narrators for both Kaitlyn and Micah. Narrators Blake Lockheart and Devon Sorvari absolutely nailed the dual POV. A must-listen for fans of second chances and slow-burn chemistry.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Smart and witty characters, unique storyline, unpredictable! What a great read! I loved adding this gem to the books that came before it! It absolutely stands alone, but is an amazing compliment and makes me want to go back and read all the others again! The perfect after Christmas story!

Fabulous!

What a delightful, lighthearted, closed-door rom-com. Kaitlyn is attempting to redeem her social elite family’s reputation by pulling off a successful fundraising event, and as things start to derail she has to lean on her high-school nemesis Micah, once a hard-up teenager turned successful architect. With the eight years that have passed, their competitive nature towards each other is still present, yet so are the sparks and chemistry. Told in a dual timeline of past and present, as well as dual PoVs, there was as much hope and bated breaths for Kaitlyn and Micah’s second chance at romance as there was for the gala to be successful. I loved the banter, the redeeming qualities of both characters and the anticipation of reconciliation in this cute, quick story.
Performed in duet narration, new-to-me narrators Blake Lockheart and Devon Sorvari did a great job at voicing Kaitlyn and Micah. The pacing and emotions portrayed provided an easy and immersive listening experience.
