When the solar flare took out the world's power… nobody could explain why the street lights still glowed in Jakarta.

Was it a signal from space?

When the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) transmits strange images of the red planet: a scientifically unexplained light phenomenon on the summit of Elysium Mons has the experts both concerned and baffled. A team needed to check it out.

The mission to Mars was set. Now, they had to build the team.

Dr. Rachel Fereira, a world-renowned linguist, enjoyed her life as a professor at Stanford University. Her bestseller about how a possible first contact with intelligent life might go brought her a small amount of fame, but she didn't expect a call from NASA.

What were they keeping from the public? Was she ready for space?

You'll love this hard science fiction novel because we all wonder what's out there beyond the stars.

Honestly, the ending was not for me at all. No real wrap-up and left hanging about the anomaly itself.

A good dream, but, wet the bed

This book has an unusual storyline and realistic characters. The narration was excellent. After reading several zombie serial books this was refreshing!

Fast paced, entertaining, with good science

The book was going so well. Then the ending started. I thought I missed a few chapters and had to check. The ending just sucked. I felt like the author disappeared and someone else who had no idea what was going on finished it.

Amazing and informative

The ending was sort of as if the writer was ready to move on to the next project.
The story and writing for the first 80% was really good.

Abrupt ending

It’s too pollyannaish. It’s too short. And it’s just lacking. Solid science makes it not horrible in conjunction with a good, not great reader. I wouldn’t have bought it, having to do it over again.

Not worth it

I really wish I could discuss what was bad without giving away the ending.

The premise was fresh the execution was terrible and the ending tanked it.

Just so not worth the credit spent.
