Welcome to the Grounded Union Podcast, hosted by Brandon and Caitlyn Doerksen. In 2019, our marriage hit rock bottom—so close to divorce that we thought there was no way back. But through deep healing, transformation, and a relentless pursuit of something better, we didn’t just save our marriage—we created something more beautiful than we ever imagined. On our journey, we realized that the conventional advice from counselors, pastors, and mentors wasn’t enough. So, we set out on an uncharted path, searching for real, lasting change. Now, standing on the other side, we’ve mapped out the exact process that restored our love, trust, and connection—a process we weren’t given but one we discovered through lived experience. This podcast is our invitation to you: to walk this path with us, to challenge the norms, and to build a marriage that is passionate, open, honest, deeply connected, and full of life. No one told us it was possible—but we’re here to tell you: it absolutely is. Join us on this journey. It’s not just about saving your marriage—it’s about creating one that’s stronger, richer, and more alive than ever.© 2025 Grounded Union Personal Development Personal Success Relationships Social Sciences

  • Stepping Down From Ministry to Save My Marriage
    Sep 11 2026

In this episode of the Grounded Union Podcast, we dive deep into Brandon and Caitlyn’s story of stepping down from ministry to save their marriage. Brandon shares how his identity was completely wrapped up in being a pastor and missionary, creating a double life that allowed him to ignore his sexual brokenness and the pain in their relationship. They unpack spiritual bypassing, the high stakes of coming clean while in ministry, and how the “good Christian boy” facade kept real healing from occurring. This is a raw look at what happens when performance replaces authenticity — and the freedom that comes when you finally let the show stop. If your identity is tied to a role that’s costing your marriage, this episode will challenge everything you’re currently doing.

  • Did I Marry the Wrong Person?
    Sep 4 2026

In this episode of the Grounded Union Podcast, we dive deep into one of the most common (and rarely talked about) mental escapes after marriage gets hard: “Did I marry the wrong person?” Brandon gets honest about how often he used that thought as a mental escape when things got hard, and Caitlyn shares how common (and damaging) this pattern is. They reframe the issue entirely — the problem is rarely the person you married. It’s usually the mess, the addiction, the dishonesty, and the lack of ownership. When you stop escaping and start healing, you often get a completely different version of your spouse. If you’ve ever wondered if life would be better with someone else, this episode will challenge and free you.

I've listened to every episode of the Grounded Union Podcast, and it has completely changed the way I view marriage, trust, and healing. The honesty, humility, and practical wisdom Caitlyn and Brandon share have challenged me to take ownership of my actions instead of blaming my spouse. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that healing isn't about being right—it's about rebuilding connection. Their teaching on staying curious, following through on your word, sitting with your spouse's pain, and living an undistracted life has had a real impact on how I show up in my marriage. If you're serious about healing your relationship and becoming a better husband or wife, I can't recommend this podcast enough. It's authentic, deeply encouraging, and full of practical guidance that can truly transform a marriage.

I have been dealing with betrayal trauma in my marriage for more than 22 years. I have read so many books, listened to countless podcasts, seen many therapists, even gone to intensives. I'm two episodes into this podcast and all I can say is WOW! Finally some validation after all these years. This is literally the best podcast I've heard. I can't say whether or not their healing process works but it's definitely worth a listen even for just the encouragement! Prayers for help and healing for all who need it ❤️

The podcasts are religion neutral and draw you into their more lucrative 2 day workshops. Very little is discussed regarding the actual steps taken to retrain a brain from years of entitlement and pornography consumption.
