Cover is misleading

I nearly fell out of my chair during one of the chapters… Cam was slightly infuriating towards the end. Looking back, the entire book is a compilation of dysfunctional relationships.

I love this its so sweet and the end is so gratifying so cute and a wlw book

I enjoyed this book but personally thought the two Narrators are what made it better and helped me finish it. Not sure if I read this I would have liked it as much. Still worth the listen.

The Depth!

This book surpassed my expectations. The characters are remarkable and as a mental health professional, it approaches the therapeutic relationship with Cam and her doctor brilliantly. Don’t even get me started on how ES perfectly nails the spice—so f’n good; no notes!

Everything was amazing from the narration to the plot development, this isn’t your typical cheesy sapphic HEA—which we all love— there’s a poetic depth in the writing that is so compelling that it makes you want to see the story through to the end. And also, puppers!!!

Cute, fun, spice, sweet. Feel good story with some feel good spice looking foreword to more.

Sapphic & Spicy

This is a heartfelt and spicy sapphic story about Violet and Cam. They both have gone through a lot in their previous relationships and they both have gone through a lot to learn and love as they find their way to each other.
Violet is patient, understanding, and deserving of Cam.
Cam is growing, learning how to be the best version of herself and a good partner.
This book has a mental health aspect that was written very healthy and with a great amount of sensitivity towards it.

Great Cute Rom-com

I love this cute rom-com. The VAs hit the characters right out of the park, especially Allie Shae, who totally embodies the character of Cam. A good listen.

Puppy Love

Came for the dogs, stayed for the found family. There are so many cute moments in this story - especially the one with the sharks 😉 - that it balanced out some of the heavy topics. Nicely done. The narration was awesome 👏👏👏

Cam and Violet - boss/employee, no-strings situationship that went hot and heavy until reality set in. So many things for both of them to unpack before they can confront their feelings.

A little incident with one of the dogs, but everything is fine! He makes it alright. All furry friends have a HEA❤️

Good Sapphic RomCom-But Corny Title and Triggers

Cam and Violet are both trying to heal from traumatic childhoods and from LTRs that ended when their partners cheated, so to avoid U-Haul Syndrome, and the Rebound Effect, one draws up a "benefits" contract stipulating no romance or strings. The MCs are both likeable and interesting, though they lay the sarcasm on a little thick as they try to hide their growing feelings. Thank goodness that the title comes from the fact that both the MCs work in the dog grooming industry and are dog lovers-and NOT from the usual meaning of pre-teen or adolescent "first love", so you don't have to worry about creepiness.

Though they only seem to have released two books so far, I will definitely look forward to reading more from this author. The quality of the writing is well above average, the scenes well set, and the main characters well painted, though if I have a complaint it's that there are quite a few supporting characters who pop in and out with unusual but similar sounding names (at least to me) and it can be hard to remember who some of these are.

Trigger warnings include addicted parents, potential stalking from ex-boyfriend, and dog violence. The "spice" is well done and integral to the plot-though there's a definite "top".

Both narrators are fantastic

One of the big themes in this book is learning to leave your comfort zone.

Unfortunately, a lot of that ends up looking more like being in an abusive relationship than actual character growth.
