Gabriel Rhodes

My family's roots run deep, and my responsibilities are clear. My family and Rhodes Hotels, my family business. As a father first, I've always put my daughter above everything, living in a carefully maintained world close to my ex-wife, ensuring peace.

I never expected to fall in love again and find the kind of passion I had with Aurora. I thought it would be easy, but when I introduced her to my daughter, it shattered the delicate balance of my life, forcing me to make regrettable choices that hurt the only woman I ever loved.

Aurora Turner

I have lived my whole life not being important to anyone. Not my parents, not the aunt who I was the caretaker of, and definitely not my first boyfriend who didn't deliver on his promise of commitment. Meeting Gabriel was unexpected, a whirlwind that promised a sense of belonging I've always craved.

As an architect, I'm used to creating spaces where people feel at home, yet finding my own place in Gabriel's world proves to be my biggest challenge. His dedication to his daughter is admirable and I love that about him, but when it becomes clear that I will end up coming between his daughter, who wants her parents to get back together, and Gabriel, I'm forced to walk away and break my heart.

I have not even started to heal from the wound he delivered when Gabriel comes back. He says he still loves me and knows that I feel the same way. But how can I believe that we won't end up exactly where we did the last time?

Best of Me is a billionaire single-father, second chance, found-family romance with a meddling ex-wife, enough angst to require a box of tissues, and plenty of steam that may make a fan necessary. It is a complete standalone.

This was a good story!!! Gabe was an absolute idiot and took aurora for granted so much at the beginning. And honestly Sophia was such a twat. Iris was completely unhinged and I loved the drama this book had. I wish iris got what was coming to her in a higher dramatic fashion but I’m glad she got what was coming to her. Spice was good but my dear god gabe only thought with his little head most of this book.

Good story!

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, thanks to the audible catalog I gave this title a try for free. If you like insecure career woman meets her high society prince charming - ex-wife and child issues aside - then you might like this

Overall it is a good story about a father trying to do what’s best for his daughter while finding true love and happiness.
Gabriel’s ex caused so much drama and angst for him and Aurora. He had blinders on to everything around him even when his family and friends gave it to him straight up. Controlling ex and daughter.
Aurora had a hard childhood, father, mother left her, and her aunt before she died made her the caregiver but in exchange for room and board she had to work and pay her way. Everyone always left her.
Gabriel’s character finally had some growth and Aurora stayed kind, understanding and loving.

A story with the best and appropriate narrators. Unsure if the characters have southern accent or not but they sure do fit the part. The female narrator is incredible. The narrator name looked like a males name but it works if a male is the female in the story. I’m southern so I can appreciate the southern accent. Thank you so much to the author.

I basically got nothing accomplished while listening to this book. Just when I’d say “one more chapter,” I’d end up listening for another 2 hours. The story was that good. SO MUCH ANGST!

The only downside was the female narrator. Her voice is painfully slow. Each time one of her chapters came on, I had to speed it up significantly. Then slow it back to a normal speed when the male POV chapters came on.

It was like she was talking underwater. It was very inconvenient to have to do this while driving on a long road trip. Maybe production could speed up this chapters so the book would feel more congruous? That would keep readers from having to take their eyes off the road to alter the speed.

Riveting story
