WALT LONGMIRE AND HENRY STANDING BEAR ARE BACK, AND IN THE TRADITION OF WAIT FOR SIGNS AND THE HIGHWAYMAN, THIS ACTION-PACKED NOVELLA SET IN THE ALASKA TUNDRA PUSHES OUR HEROES TO THEIR LIMITS AS THEY FACE POWERFUL ENEMIES WHO WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET WHAT THEY WANT

Tooth and Claw follows Walt and Henry up to Alaska as they look for work after they both return from serving in Vietnam. While working for an oil company in the bitter cold of winter, they soon encounter a ferocious polar bear that seems hell-bent on their destruction. But it’s not too long until they realize that the danger does not lurk outside in the frozen Alaskan tundra, but with their co-workers, who are after priceless treasure and will stop at nothing to get it.

Fans of Craig Johnson will thrill to this pulse-pounding and bone-chilling story of extreme adventure that adds another indelible chapter to the legend of Walt Longmire.©2024 Craig Johnson (P)2024 Recorded Books

pros: i could feel the cold artic wind. atmosphere and story provided some extra chill reading (listening) on a December evening.

cons: Really claustrophobic. I'm used to the modern West and quirky characters and the open range for Walt and Henry to play in. I can see where some people might enjoy this type story. But i just didn't feel any real passion for any of the characters. i didn't get to invested in any single characters story. The bear was just a killing machine and the villians in this artic story. well, they left me cold! see what i did there? cold. get it? i kill me!

walt & Henry always worth a read

Nearly supernatural bear? Scary enough. But no match for Human greed. Walt never fails me.

Characters were true to their histories.
