Absolutely loved this duet. Humorous, angsty and emotional and spicy. I love when a story can make you feel these emotions right in your chest. I also really loved the FMC.

Amazing!

Love loved loved the ending to this story, the growth and healing these characters went through to get their HEA was heavy, and while both healing from different things they were both healing from the same thing too! This was a beautifully well written friends to lovers, second chance small town romance ❤️ and JH’s spicy be spicing after all the edging she puts you through. Both narrators did an awesome job bringing these characters to life.

Loved the first book and second!! It's a story of how even broken people can be put back together with the right amount of love!

Book/story review: This is the second half of a beautiful story of tragic loss, second chances and the power of love to heal broken hearts. Jennifer is a true artists with her ability to weave a heartbreaking story that will have you shedding tears along with the characters. After the tears is always redemption in the form of love and a HEA.
I truly enjoyed this story. The character growth was perfection and progression of the storyline was immaculate.

Audio review- The overall narration was really good. The narrator’s did a great job bringing these characters to life. I was not a fan of Charlottes male voice and would have rather Gabriel narrate for Cal even when in Lucy’s POV, but it did not take away from the story. This audiobook is definitely one I would recommend, great job to everyone involved!

Brilliant

The conclusion of Cal and Lucy is still the same slow burn from book 1. However, it is more serious, less banter. There is love, heart break, disappointment, tears, sighs, and laughter. The emotional rollercoaster is well worth the ride. This was such a beautiful ending to an extraordinary story.

One Book

I really enjoyed book one. I thought this was good but I do feel this all could have been one book. I also really wanted something to cut open my heart. This had some emotional aspects but never took me there. I enjoyed it overall though.

Worth it

This two book series was absolutely worth the listen! So many twists and turns kept my heart on the edge. Would highly recommend!!

A Beautiful and Emotional Conclusion to the Duet

A Pessimist’s Guide to Love was the perfect follow-up to An Optimist’s Guide to Heartbreak. After that emotional cliffhanger, finally getting inside Cal’s head made this story even more powerful. The way Jennifer Hartmann explores grief, resilience, and love is unforgettable.

I loved how the story deepened the connection between Cal and Lucy while revealing the secrets and pain that shaped him. It’s heartbreaking and healing all at once, and the ending was everything I hoped for.

The Audible narration was once again excellent, capturing both the tenderness and intensity of the story. I was completely drawn in by the performances, which made the characters feel so real.

A stunning conclusion to the duet that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
