Publisher's summary

Deeply changed by his experiences on the fantasy world of Volar, Ty returns home to discover all-new threats and allies awaiting him. With the fate of two worlds on the line, he must do more than become the hero he’s always wanted to be. He must outmaneuver the gods themselves, even as they transform all he knows and loves into one giant theater of war.

Theater of War takes place on Earth and Volar and expands the deep lore of the truly epic worlds in this incredible LitRPG series.

excellent book 2

Picked up right where the last one left off. Component MC finding creative, non plot armor ways to progress against overwhelming odds is always a winner.

Came for the Sequel, Stayed for the OMG YESSSSSS

This book is sequel to "Divine Invasion", an isekai-like book where the ML gets a few months to prepare for his trip to the fantasy world, and gets to come back to Earth at the end of the book. Not gonna lie, I expected book two to jump back to the fantasy world immediately, if not start already back there, but instead we spend the first chunk of the book on earth. i was surprised to discover just how much of the fantasy world seems to have followed Ty back home. In most stories like this, the mundane "Earth" stuff is boring, just a launching pad to get us back to the fantasy world, but NOT SO HERE. I couldn't believe the twists. And when Ty went back to Volar, we got more of the out-of-the-box thinking characteristic of the first book, along with more world building, details about other scions, raised stakes, learning more about ancient Volar...

This book keeps the momentum built in the first book and left me itching for the third. And, once again, the narrator takes an already good story and elevates it with his unique performance and production elements. There are voice effects, sound effects, and stringly distinctive character performances (no overlapping voices that confuse you of who is talking). Overall, this series has surpassed my expectations of indy authors and I can't wait to see what is next.

READY for the next book!

Im absolutely loving this series! The lore is so well thought out, you can really tell the author put a lot of effort into it.
Some books in the LITrpg genre are just about stabby stabby joke joke. This isn't one of them. Although it does have its stabby stables, and joke jokes, this book, and series, has depth.
Theater of War is a journey. One that I was happy to take.
*side note~ I really appreciate the depiction of a demi-sexual MC. thanks

Very fun read

This is a very fun read. I love how Ty is playing the game master, if you will, and not the game. This keeps things constantly moving and surprised me at several of his choices. They definitely seem “right” for the character, just were unexpected.

Taking a break

The first book did enough to keep me intrigued and I liked the authors premise and changes to a standard litrpg. I was most disappointed with the progress made by the MC which didn’t pick up in the 2nd book but slowed down. MC just gets the crap kicked out of him and uses others for help, the whole insanity deal was getting convoluted too. 20 hours of story for an MC to be at level 3. Stepping away from this one, will finish if I find some motivation. Woe is me MC.
