Bogart casts aside his humble origins, becoming an adventurer. He must gain levels in the guild and fight alongside his allies, both within and outside the law. For fame and fortune! Maybe even to save the world. But mostly for fame and fortune!
You only get one chance at the big leagues, and nobody knows it better than Bogart. He's going straight from the badlands to the top of the world, or he'll gladly die trying. If only he knew the truth about the life he's chosen. There are wars, dark gods, and eldritch horrors on the horizon. And nothing is as it seems. Join Bogart as he quests for riches!

Fantastic narration by Evan Sibley. This is the first book I have heard from this narrator and I must say I am impressed with the narration performance.

But not in this book.
Bogart the goblin thief wants gold and recognition and learns what it's like to get them.
This is an awesome fantasy adventure book with a goblin as the MC but not as the most powerful character.
This book is well written and narrated.
I give this book 8 out of 5 stars.
Goblins RULE!!!

The Bad: This reads like a GM decided to publish their last gaming session, and the GM is a softie and always gives their players an out. Eventually you quit being concerned if a character is going to die, because, you know, the GM is a softie. I don't mind the profanities as I'm sure each race has a list of corresponding terms, but the use of idioms from our reality really took me out of the moment (IE: brownie points). One more gripe, and a mini-spoiler, the mimic predominantly on the cover is only in the story for about 50 seconds. So don't expect a clever encounter or story arc.
Overall: If you like being led by the nose you might like this. The goblin is the only character to be given barely any development, and the rest of the party are your standard trope characters. I assume the other raving reviews are from friends and family. I'll give it a 2nd listen but I will not be continuing the series.
