It was no small feat but Arthur, aka Brick Breaker, managed to pass the Combine and earn the right to keep his powers.

And so, his work as a superhero may finally begin, with his team, the Eon City Champions. Their first mission sounds easy enough: rid the Climb of all the baddies squatting in the abandoned housing projects, and they'll get to keep the building as their new headquarters.

But as it turns out, the Champions are not the first team to attempt this clean-up mission. And the previous groups of superheroes that tried to do it were killed or disappeared in the strangest of circumstances. Moreover, for the Champions, the menace is not only external but internal. Tensions between team members arise, due to a lack of leadership, threatening to cause factions to emerge.

Arthur has no choice. He will need to take the lead, and organize this team of mavericks and misfits into a cohesive and efficient force. More importantly, he will need to find a steady supply of ChemX to help them advance their superpowers, to find out who wants to keep the Climb in such a dreadful state, put an end to them, and live to tell the tale.

excellent hero story

i was rooting around looking for humor or super hero stories and I found both... EXCELLENT. The first part is great and the storyline loses nothing in this follow up book. left me wanting more so bring it on.

meh

the first books was decent this fell short to meh territory and had some serious story issues editor's should if caught.

a power he takes in the first one (Heavy Hitter) was forgotten about so it still comes up in his list of powers in this one and is never explained.

also at one point he says he has a level 3 chem x tolerance so he can only take one of the 2 x's vials he has, (i don't recall if this is the same level tolerance as in the first book) but then later he says he went up to level 3... and he was already at 3 doses of x at the time (counting the first does) then takes another again never mentioned maybe the going up to 3 was a typo but a pretty major one. I won't be continuing this series it was okay but it's clearly down hill

leveling up superpowers is a great concept.

always looking for more of an edge and more power gains ths mc may be a good guy but his in it to survive. it's not just some simple do gooders but people who need to live after theirs heroics.

This was not a good story

The problem with this book is that the types of villains he is fighting at the end of the book don't build up properly. Also he is dropped into most book series late game way to early.

lack of dynamic writing

the first book showed promise so i gave the second book a chance. waste of a credit. over simplied characters and generic interactions. skipped over potenially interesting conversations due to lack of talent maybe. could hqve been written by AI.
