Outstanding worldbuilding

Fire Prince was a fascinating listen! It wasn't as lighthearted as some of Michelle M. Pillow's other novels. This book's plot is heavily influenced by factors related to fear and how it shapes perceptions. I found that element frustrating at times—but also appealing and completely necessary.

I haven't read the first three books in the series, but that didn't significantly impact my listening experience. I had to listen carefully to avoid getting lost, but I attribute that to the book's skillful, action-packed plotting. It's possible that being more familiar with the other books in the series might have eased that a bit.

Overall, I highly recommend this audiobook, particularly if you're looking for an interspecies romance set in an emotionally charged world.

Intriguing!

This is the fourth book in the Qurilixen Lords Series, a dragon shapeshifter romance, and a spinoff of the amazing Qurilixen World. I like this series! Nova and Kane are interesting characters. They are opposites attract. Nova, the leader of the revolutionists, is feisty, smart, and strong. Kane, a shifter prince, and an ambassador for the dragon-shifter monarchy, is handsome and enigmatic. The storyline is intriguing, filled with danger, suspense, and action. Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job with the narration. #Booksprout

A bit of everything

If your reading tastes are as eclectic as mine, I'd bet you'll like this one as much as I do. Action, drama, emotional and silly moments, and just the right amount of heat to keep it fun.
The continuity from the interconnected books is so well done that all the little puzzle pieces slip right into place, and of course all of the new characters keep you wondering where their stories will end up.

Fabulous series, loved this book

The voice of Michael ferraluolo sets the alien world scene for me as soon as l hear his voice after listening to so many of Michelle's books with his narration. l had wondered how this book would play out, the rebellion had been a long time coming and the federation needed to face the consequences. The dragons had been long helping on the sly with food but Nora was not aware of this and treats the dragons as enemies too. l especially love the cyborg and his love of the princess. RECOMMENDED ROMANCE SERIES.

Excellent!

Having previously reviewed the E-book version of Fire Prince I was looking forward to listening to the audio version which is narrated by the exceptionally strong voice of Michael Ferraiuolo and sets a captivating tone to a story that seamlessly flows from one character to the next.
I thoroughly enjoyed Fire Prince as with her usual mesmerizing gift for storytelling the author has penned another engaging read with this fourth entry to the Qurilixen Lords series.
Cysgodian rebel Nova who is the daughter of a revolutionary leader, has lots of trust issues that will soon come into play when she is found wounded by dragon shifter, Prince Kane after her people’s rebellion in Shelter City is put down.
Kane isn’t looking for a romance but there is something about Nova that stirs his inner fires, which in turn creates lots of conflict because of his role as ambassador for his people in Shelter City and the desire for the feisty revolutionary warring within him. Their story is a very passionate, and riveting narrative filled with intrigue, action and adventure as two dueling personalities find their common ground and love amidst the political chaos surrounding them.

Love this series!

All Nova wants to do is survive the chaos thathas become her life and she definitely did not want to have feelings for Kane the Draig Ambassador.

Nova and Kane . . .

Prince Kane is serving as an ambassador for the dragon shifter monarchy. Having gotten rid of the evil Federation and freed the Cysgod people, things still remain chaotic and no one trusts the others which means the threat of civil war is a good possibility. Kane and Nova feel an attraction to each other, but each of them is from a different group experiencing the hostility and all of her ideas are opposite to what he is trying to do here. She doesn’t realize that although she is working for a better life for her people, Kane had not been permitted to interfere while the Federation was in power. But now he wants to help right some of the wrongs done to them. Will she give him a chance?

This is an enjoyable storyline with likable characters. The world building is really good. And the reading experience is made even better by the skillful narrator for the audiobook version, Michael Ferraiulo. He does a great job with the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate impression of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood, familiarize the characters, and offers a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

Don't -So Many Meanings

Fire Prince is the best book of this series. I love the interaction between Prince Kane and Nova and that one word "Don't". That word means a lot between Kane and Nova.

The dragon-shifters and cat-shifters are left with the aftermath of facing the fractions of surviving Cysgodian. The Cysgodian survivors were lied to by the Federation. To the shifters, 30 years is nothing but to the Cysgodian, 30 years of standing on the sidelines by the shifters is that the shifters could not be trusted.

Prince Kane is an ambassador for the Drags. His job is to negotiate a reasonable agreement between the shifters and Cysgodians. It doesn't help when Nova, leader of the revolutionist fraction of the Cysgodian threaten his race with the Federation.

Nova was buffing during the negotiation. She was hoping for a better deal in the Cysgodian favor. What she created was for Kane to mistrust her after he had saved her life.

Kane now has to figure if he could trust Nova and Nova has to figure if she is to believe the Federation or Kane. It doesn't help when Nova's brother Doyan is causing war against the shifters. Both would have to peel so many layers of lies to discover the truth and to stop a war in the making.

Great story. I can't wait for Payton's story.

The narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo does an excellent job in narrating the story. It is easy to tell the difference between several characters.

The Fire Prince and the Rebel

Nova is the leader of the Rebellion faction. Kane is a dragon, prince, and diplomat for the Dragon shifters’ royal family. When the federation is finally banished, Kane finds Nova injured and takes her to a healing facility. When they meet again later, they don’t realize they are on the way to the same meeting, one designed to set the path forward for the planet. The participants don’t agree on a lot, but it is a start. Kane and Nova are drawn to each other, but don’t understand the attraction. Can a dragon prince and a rebellion leader fall in love? Can they agree on anything? This is an action-packed story with fantastic characters. It is unpredictable, to say the least. There is danger (of course), political intrigue, distrust, betrayal, sizzling chemistry, and a new start. Michael Ferraluolo’s narration helps bring the story and the characters to life. Great story and enjoyable listen!

In the Midst of Revolution, Love Blooms

He’s a dragon shifter Prince, she’s a leader of her people - they’re on opposite sides of the table, but they keep looking at each other ‘that way’. I love how the overall arc of the next generation of Draig and Var royalty is progressing; the Federation threat to the Cysgodian people’s story makes an exciting backdrop for each of their love stories, especially Kane and Nova’s. Michael Ferraiuolo does a wonderful job of bringing this world to life. Filled with intriguing secondary characters and familiar faces, this series and this book is a fantastic story.
