Great book

Grateful for the insight I have gained. Schizophrenia is so misunderstood and a really sad condition for anyone to have, specially a loved one. I now understand and are better informed on how to be there for my son.

Este libro me da esperanza, mi hermano padece de un tipo de esquizofrenia cinestesica y está en anasignosia, su libro me ha enseñado todo lo que he hecho mal desde que debutó con su enfermedad , gracias de verdad mil gracias, acabo de escuchar este audiolibro y compré la versión en español para el kindle con la esperanza que mi mamá lo lea completo , para que pueda entender mejor , de nuevo con su relato sobre su hermano en más de una ocasión me hizo ver el parecido con el caso del mío, a veces la manera tan sincera en que relata los momentos con su hermano me sacaron lágrimas , de nuevo gracias de corazón .

So proclaims my young adult Daughter in the most booming southern preacher voice you can imagine. Honestly I think I physically jumped and quickly shut my mouth. I thought I was trying to lovingly support her and explain her mental illness and need for medication but I really was just dumping information on her without asking if she even wanted to hear my opinion. I was so taken aback by her “denial” of her recently diagnosed illness. I’ve had no idea how or if I should confront her but I now know she suffers from “anosognosia”. I am a health care provider and had never even heard of this term! This book and communication style is going to change our lives. I think LEAP is a valuable tool for communication as a health care provider as well. Honestly all humans could benefit from more empathy and active listening in their communications with others.
