Great Dark Fantasy

This was my first experience with Julia Goldhirsh's work and I enjoyed it a lot. The story was a creative, dark fantasy as it was about a young girl who can't control her magic and managed to kill a man, so she goes into hiding. Years later, when her sister was kidnapped, the young woman has to decide whether to continue running or to rescue her sister. I liked the complexities of the characters. I was entertained by the twists and turns of the story. I really appreciated that the author incorporated the use of crystals and gems and their purported properties into the magic utilized by many of the characters. Alexandra Hunter's narration was fine, and her voice was pleasant. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Intriguing

Totally different for me. Well written with action that will keep you intrigued. How do you stay safe when things are going wrong. The Narrator made this story come alive.

Rebellion

I received this audio book for free in exchange for an honest review and in willingly leaving one. this is my first time to hear this author and I loved the book it was really well written. the narration is really good. I liked the story it was great.
