  • Selling the Cost of Doing Nothing w/ Charlotte Lloyd | Ep 458
    Nov 4 2026
Most sellers think they lose deals to a better competitor. Charlotte Lloyd says the real winner is usually no decision at all, and it happens because nobody ever priced out what staying the same costs. She and Chris get into the difference between ROI and COI, the cost of inaction, then run it live: Chris plays a small business owner leaking money on an unfilled $5,000 retreat, and Charlotte walks him from a vague complaint to an agreed $20,000 a month problem before she says a word about her offer. Chris pushes back on how long she takes to get there, and that disagreement is the sharpest part of the episode. If you keep getting ghosted after you send the proposal, this one's for you. • How to Buy Back Your Time w/ Chris Do | Ep 457
    Oct 28 2026
Every service business hits the same wall: finite units of time and energy. Chris Do’s fix is not working harder, it is moving units of time off his own plate to someone less expensive, starting with the work that needs no taste. Filing receipts, categorizing expenses, production. Judgment and taste stay with him until the person he hired can make his decisions for him. He walks through the hire that earned him a three month sabbatical, why he stopped trusting resumes and name brand credentials, and the failed hire who came from a company of hundreds and could not function in a team of five. If you’ve been putting off a first hire, or a first firing, this one’s for you. • You're Not Underpaid, You're Afraid w/ Nidhi Tewari | Ep 456
    Oct 21 2026
Most creatives think their pricing problem is a pricing problem. Nidhi Tewari, LCSW and author of Working Well, says it starts much earlier, in the messages you absorbed about whether this career was ever going to pay. She and Chris trace how old rejection turns into shame, and how shame quietly shows up in the way you pitch, negotiate, and discount. From there it gets practical: the three traps in a sales conversation, fixers, avoiders, and connectors, what an explorer does instead, and the four domains of attunement she calls FRSC. Chris pushes back hard on the word relational, and the disagreement is the best part. If you keep saying yes to a lower fee, this one's for you. Besides all of the gems of information in each episode; the stories behind the guests are truly inspirational. As a designer, it’s nice to see other industry professionals thriving and freely giving so much good information, like their favorite software/websites/tricks/routines.
I also appreciate Chris interview style of being direct and super analytical. This show is filled with tips for designers but would be interesting to anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Thank you, Chris Do!
