From street criminal to war hero.

From outcast to Marine officer.

The journey has been a long one, but now it’s reaching the end.

Cam Alvarez leads his platoon of Drop-Troopers into the Tahni Imperium, into the final days of the war and the bloodiest battles yet.

The Tahni will throw everything they have into the defense of their core worlds, and when that includes using their own civilians as shields, Lt. Cam Alvarez will have to decide whether to follow orders and fire on civilians or follow his conscience and risk his career...

This story, books 1-4, creates a very relatable picture that captivates the imagination as it puts you in the armor of a Drop Trooper. Partlow is a fantastic writer, and all of his books are a must-read.

Great Story

I really like this series and its characters. And I'm looking forward to the next two books. Sometimes the story gets a bit to obius and its why this story only gets 4 stars.

The end of the war

A great fight to finally break the Tahni's back. But at what cost?

Narrator as normal, killing it. While he's not too fantastic at doing random nobody voices, he's still amazing at doing the important, will written and respected characters, their voices some how synching up with their personalities. Makes me think the author and him had back and forth when they first started this series.

What can I say besides I think its a great book in such a saga of loss and moving forward and trying to cope with being better then the enemy and some times paying the price for your own beliefs.

*HUGE SPOILER. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOK*

Easily my favorite line was... "Only the skipper can kill skipper." I think his loss probably impacted me more then scottys... but ill be honest I do think its a damn shame that such a great character died... I assumed he would live up until the final book.
Can't wait for the audio of the next books, very much looking forward to this reprieve during covid.

Ah man, heart wretcher.

A fitting final book in a great series. Rick Partlow takes us on another gut clenching and wrenching ride in a mech suit. Realistic combat scenes written with Partlow's superlative style, completely coherent within his created universe. The scenario for so many other great Partlow books.
If you love mil sci-fi and Space Marines and you haven't read or listened to Drop Troopers...what the heck are you waiting for?

Another great book in the Drop Trooper series

As usual, Rick delivers a combat story that hits with the metaphorical force of a punch to the gut. Heavy Mecha action, and all the Marine Corps inner politics you could want.
The vocal performance was as usual, bang on!

Outstanding
