When a man wakes up in an illegal medical operation, he goes into amok and tries to escape. But will he manage to figure out what's wrong with him, when his mind is blurry from drugs, when the device strapped on his arm cannot be removed, and when the voice in his head seems to know a lot more than he does?

A man who undergoes an illegal procedure, wakes up and escapes the facility. After some altercations he runs into an older woman. He forces her to help him while he is dealing with the pain in his head and a voice only he hears. He needs to get back to the facility.
He thinks he knows how he can fix what’s wrong with him.
This is the second book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Steve White ). I did not even realize it until I looked at my book list, because he uses a very different accent in this book than he did in the previous. That has just upped my rating for his narration.
He really gets across the frantic nature of this guy.
There are no explicit sex scenes, or swearing. There is some violence.

Nasty procedure

Although I have to say I found it fairly predictable so I saw the end coming way before, probably because of the shortness of the story which I guess would make it more difficult to write an actual complex mystery.
But, as short stories go, it's nice.
I don't like the narrator though, he reads in a flat tone of voice which makes it boring to listen to. His strong local accent made him sometimes hard to understand.
Nice little horror story
