A domestic noir thriller with an unforgettable twist you won't see coming.

"Builds steadily and really picks up to a breakneck pace for the final mile." - SCREAM Magazine

After a prolonged illness, Frank and Linda's marriage has begun to fray at the edges. When old friends tell them about an "unconventional therapy retreat" called The Method, they jump at the chance to attend. One last attempt to stay true to their wedding vows. Till death do they part.

Dr. Kaspar's Lone Loon Lodge is a secluded resort deep in the Montana wilderness. The staff is friendly. The other couple joining them is intense. But when one of the guests is murdered events quickly spiral out of control, leaving Linda and Frank unable to trust anyone but each other.

I really enjoyed this book and had to finish listening when should have been sleeping. Also recommend his books Woom. This book has good character development, much violence and torture and surprise ending and great narration. It is about couple trying to save their marriage with a unique way of counseling in remote lodge. My favorite character was Frank as he truly loved his wife Linda. Recommend to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU!

Good Psychological Thriller

The story is around an expensive retreat where couples go to try to reignite the flame of love that has been lost between Frank and Linda. Things seem to be going okay until the discovery of hidden cameras everywhere inside the retreat.

The Method starts out harmless enough with a couple going on a couple's marriage retreat. Somewhere along the way it goes horribly wrong. Is it all true or are the therapists trying a different approach. In the end, the question is still very much real. Duncan Ralston is a fantastic author. This is the first story I have read of his, but won't the last. His ability to take you into the minds of the characters and feel what they are feeling makes the story come alive for the reader. I listened to the audio book and Rick Gregory does a really good job of helping the listener to get the atmosphere of the love, frustration and the fear the characters are going through.

Don't read this at night!

If you could sum up The Method in three words, what would they be?

Scary,Thrilling,Strange,

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Yeah ............. A good thrill ride and not the Disney kind.

Which scene was your favorite?

Do not want to reveal ..............just listen to the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Very much so......... this is a really scary story on many levels.

Any additional comments?

The Method by Duncan Ralston is a twisted and fun listen, much like the other book of his that I had listened to, Woom, was. This book isn't for the faint of heart. It's nasty, gritty and contains language. It's fun a twisted. The reason that I gave this book three stars instead of four or five stars is because I figured the twist our rather quickly near the beginning of the book because the author gave a few pretty dang obvious clues in the beginning that I wish he wouldn't have! **SPOILER ALERT!!** Then I realized that the book is pretty much just like Michael Douglas' The Game. It make the book a bit less enjoyable to listen to once I knew that everything was just part of their experience and that people weren't really going to be dying, etc.

Rick Gregory narrated this title quite well. His performance was full of emotional intonations where it was called for and I thought he did well with the various characters voices, both male and female. This isn't my first Gregory performance and I'm sure it won't be my last. He's a good, reliable narrator. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.
