I thought the story would go a totally different way. Wasn’t a bad read though.

One of My Favorite Authors

Jamie Richard’s is a scientist looking for love which always messes up her thinking. When her dating app matches her to Claire Flores who thinks she’s a man she can’t tell her the truth. When her fib becomes a snowball and then an avalanche all logic flies out of her brain. Funny and wonderful characters and marvelous narration.

Excellent story, the audible voices were fantastic. I enjoyed this story very much. I would recommend this story.

Cute and happy

Miranda MacLeod’s books always leave me feeling good after a great story and a few laughs. This one was no different. Though both main characters can be frustrating I couldn’t help but love them

A promising debut

I have to say, I really enjoyed this story, despite finding the characters utterly annoying at times, which I think is a testament to the author’s talent and the narrator’s too. Telling Lies Online is the story of a train wreck, you know it’s going to happen but you can’t help watching and you can’t prevent it. It’s unnerving and irritating. And yet, it’s very sweet too, go figure…

So, what’s the story? A technical glitch leads to a series of bad decisions. Jay and Claire have been online dating for a while, and both think they might have found The One. Only problem is, a bug changed Jay’s profile into a man’s. Claire is straight, or so she believes. In a totally unrealistic move, she decides to leave Portland (in Oregon) for Boston (on the other side of the country), where Jay lives. When she gets there, instead of telling her there was a bug on the dating website and she’s really a woman, Jay becomes Jamie and introduces herself as Jay’s colleague. She then uses everything she’s learnt about Claire during their months of chatting to woo her. I spent the whole book wanting to shake Jamie for missing so many opportunities to end her lies and Claire for being so gullible.

The most interesting thing about this novel, I think, it’s that it’s Miranda MacLeod‘s debut, and that she wrote it as part of NaNoWriMo. As she explains on her website, she wrote in a little over a month, it in not the best conditions (that’s part of the fun). I’ve read a couple of the books she wrote since and liked them a lot, which I find very encouraging for would-be authors.

I enjoyed listening to this book even though there were moments when i was tired of Claire being so dumb and gullible ,but, in the end, it all ended nicely.

Cute

Predictable story, but told well. Good for an easy listen. Happy ending as expected. Worth the listen if you like hallmark movies :)

Roller coater ride

I enjoyed the flow of the relationship between Jaime and Claire in Miranda MacLod's Telling Lies Online. It was fun, and had bold supporting characters. At one point, The antics due to the lies were becoming slightly over the top. The author managed to bring the story to a reaonable turn with great aplomb that it made sense. The narration by Stephanie Murphy was very well done.

Great romance with a heart felt message

I loved this story! It's a perfect story about the consequences a small lie can have. But it's also a story about accepting that everyone makes mistakes and you can either chose to forgive and live in the grudge or forgive and follow happiness. Jamie meets Claire on a dating website. She starts to form real and true feelings for her, even though they are miles apart. Then it turns out that Claire thinks she was man name Jay (her nickname) the whole time. Instead of making Claire aware Jamie plays it off. Then Claire is in her city and they form a friendship, while "Jay" is away. Claire starts to realize she has feelings for Jamie she was taught growing up were wrong. She has to decide to either accept who she is or stick to lie that her aunt made her believe about herself and who she is. Jamie and Claire are so good together and for each other. Then Jamie comes up with a way to get out of her lie and not have to tell Claire the truth. But as it does with all lies, it blows up in her face and now not only is her relationship on the line but all the things she has worked so hard for in her life. I really didn't know if Claire and Jamie could make it out of this mess. This was a fun story to listen to/read. It has a humorous side but also an emotional side. I really felt for these characters and I wanted their happy ending. This narrator did a great job making a separate voice and feeling for each character. A must read for romance fans.
