A great beginning for this series

This is the beginning of a series that promises to keep us on our toes.
HIS is is a security company started by Jesse Hamilton . It employs some of his family members, as well as former military and FBI agents.
Jesse has suffered a great loss, and has hardened himself to ever loving again. He carries a guilt in his heart and soul. He dedicates his life to his job and his 5 yr old daughter. FBI agent, Kate Ross, is his brother’s AJ partner. There is an under current between Kate and Jesse, but it isn’t until she is injured while walking with Jesse, that they become close. That’s when the story not only heats up, but the suspense intensifies and the whodunit will keep you guessing.
A well developed plot with engaging characters. Though it’s a stand alone, loose ends are left which I am sure will make for interesting stories in the future.
I want to commend the narrator of this audiobook. Excellent delivery .

Soooo Glad It's Here!

I'm a fan of this series. Start to finish, all of the HIS stories are golden in my eyes. So I was totally stoked to hear that they are now being made into audiobooks; a media I never expected to enjoy, but can't seem to go a day without now.

This is the first book in the series, and from the standpoint of narration it seems to have taken Carson Beck several chapters to step comfortably into his characters. This is especially notable with the female characters, unfortunately. Main character FBI Special Agent Kate Ross' voice is shrill, whiney, and distinctly annoying for the first few chapters. But just when I was about to give up (admittedly thinking I just couldn't listen to the voicing any longer), the narrator seemed to slide into the characters like they were well-worn shoes. From that point, the narration was okay. In fact, Carson Beck's male voicing is decidedly *ahem* hot.

If you are not yet familiar with the men and women of HIS, pick up the book, or grab the new audiobook and enjoy the story. It's a great series with dynamic, richly written characters full of love and loyalty.

Once I Started, I Couldn't Stop Listening!

I enjoyed Carson Beck's narration. I loved how the phone calls were presented as if we were listening to both ends of the conversation. I enjoyed listening to it as much as I did reading it!

I’ve read this book. I’ve loved his book. I’ve wanted a Hamilton man since the first pages but to hear it out loud makes it that much more awesome. I love the characters, especially AJ... haha

Jesse and Kate sure do have a battle ahead of them and most of that is them busting their butts to not only catch a bad guy but to keep from killing or ravishing each other. Two hard headed, determined people in one room, locked away to keep Kate safe... could be bad, but it was quite the opposite.

I love the way Sheila is able to bring the characters to life and give us all a story we absolutely love.
