So much more than I expected!!!

I was so wonderfully surprised by this book. The story is full of suspense, romance, and some humor. I have read some books by this author and am amazed with how much character development she can write in a book. The characters she writes about have flaws and issues. The story moves along quite fast and is very good. I thought the narrator did an excellent performance with the various characters and accents. This book is original and a standalone listen. I loved the ending with the unexpected twists! My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I will definitely listen to more books by the author and narrator. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job with some of the characters (my favorite was the husband with the Russian accent). I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

absolutely great!

I can't wait until it's recognized that these stories are absolutely the best. I kinda wanted them in order but this is just as good.. The reader is good the story is excellent. If​I could give it 10 stars l absolutely would.

Amazing, unique love story

This is one of the best books by Theodora Taylor. This book has humor, passion and a great and unique love story. This is a must listen if you love interracial romances, then you will love this story.

Exceptional

Short, yet complete. Theodora Taylor explores novel subjects in such a loving way. This story is no exception. Loved the two characters Go and Nyla. What a love story! To borrow a phrase from a movie…they complete each other. Through all their scars and challenges there’s no stopping them finding and keeping love. Left me smiling.

Interesting Book!

This book is pretty interesting. I liked the concept of the story. To have 2 different people who are the complete opposite to fall in love was beautiful. These two were made for each other. The ending was expected and unexpected all at the same time. The Go character was so robotic it was almost driving me nuts. Not as much as hearing the words "the plan". The narrator did an awesome job as well.

Why am I late!!!

Why am I always the last one to read the most entertaining, creative writing, passionate stories from an amazing author like Theodora Taylor! Like OMG!!! Wow! I’m so embarrassed I’m just know finding out about Theodora Taylor’s books. Well thank you to Audible for recommending this absolutely fantastic author. So about the book and the reason I gave it 5 stars around. Well the story is on point, and very well written as you will see when you buy it listen to it. Worth ever credit. I only listen halfway through the first chapter before I started buying more of her books on here. Yes I have started my Theodora Taylor collections today. I’m very impressed. Ok back to book again. So this was very sexy to me and very different form most of the romance novels I have read so far. I really enjoyed this new adventure it takes you on. Again I’m very impressed and started on with the next boo already. Oh! I also love the performance Clementine Dove gives (love this name so pretty). Clementine is a excellent and talented voice actress that I really enjoyed. So give the Story and Performance A+. I would go more into details about this book, but I would end up telling the whole story. So without giving anything away try the sample and see how you feel about. I really think it’s worth the credit. I do not read as much as most do. When it comes to that it’s hard to keep my attention. This author, narrator, and story really keeps my attention. I would definitely read these books! Yes that good. Two thumbs up.

shocking twist ending, insane love story

The main thing missing was more, you, will be mad there is not more to hear about their love story, which is why I'm going to listen to it again. I thought I was going to miss a male narrator but I didn't. This is true my an original type of heart felt love story with villian, suspense, action, surprise ending. Glad I brought it.

I really liked this author and narrator. I liked this book and would recommend it. The love scenes were intense and I wish this book was a movie.

Surprisingly... I really REALLY liked it!

Admittedly, this is not the type of book I typically listen to- I got it because I was taking a short road and it was cheap and seemed like something that I could play in the car but wouldn't consume my full attention while driving. O. M. GO! Was I wrong! While it was quirky, more modern and definitely a LOT more steamy than the books I typically listen to I really liked these characters! At one point I thought the author completely betrayed me with one of those unexpected twists that this book has so many of- But I was pleasantly surprised in the end. It was way more than the background noise I intended it to be. Surprisingly... I really REALLY liked it!

Great story & Loved Go!

What made the experience of listening to His Pretend Baby the most enjoyable?

I absolutely Adored and loved Go. He was complicated and broody and hard to like but in the end it just made me like him more. The narration was great too.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the play out of the story, it drew me in. I also loved the personalities of the characters and the back and forth between them.

What about Clementine Dove’s performance did you like?

Clementine Dove did an absolutely fantastic job at bringing these characters to life. She preformed them in a way that made me feel like I knew them better, than if I just read about them.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! The last few chapters had me white knuckling my chair, and my heart sank until it didn't anymore. Way to make a listener wrong their hands in dreaded anticipation.

Any additional comments?

I actually enjoyed this book way more than I anticipated. I really wish it was longer because the characters are so likesble I can read multiple books about them and be happy. There wet a few spots that I feel could have been developed plot wise that would add length to the story and make it feel a bit more solid in some parts. But truthfully I loved it as is too. Would definitely recommend. I was provided this audiobook for free through audiobook boom for my unbiased review.
