A Legal Briefs Novella

By: Emma Chase

Narrated by: Sebastian York

Join Jake and Chelsea, Stanton and Sofia, Brent and Kennedy as they navigate the hilarious and heartwarming hurdles of love, life, and the law in this final addition to the Legal Briefs series.

There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, ruthless—in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figure—a family man.

And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smackdowns, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again....

So, of course something has to screw it all up. It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.

This is why I listen to audio books - sigh ❤️

This book was funny, sweet, heartwarming & with with plenty of steam...Sustained was my favorite in the Legal Briefs series so when EC put out a novella about the McQuaid/Becker crew it was a no brainier. There is nothing to regret in this purchase. I want to invite this family over for Thanksgiving! Okay, so for those who want the facts... No cliff hanger, yes you get to see and hear about the rest of the gang from previous LB books, there is a fun look into the future with the epilogue that covers many of the characters from the other LB books. Oh and of course you can never go wrong with Sebastian York as narrator!

Chase-York combo is well worth my developing hearing problems!

The story is one that connects with every parent everywhere, but that is where the similarity to the everyday ends! It's sexy, witty, and totally non-putable-down!

Really a 2.5 hour epilog

This is the last installment in the Legal Briefs series. I think she wrote this because Chase's fans hunted her down and made her tell everyone what happened. This she does in a short, but very impactful manner. If you read the series, there is no way you can not listen the this. I found this small work to be humorous, sentimental, and up lifting. Do yourself a favor and listen to it.

Emma and Sebastian, A winning duo

Emma always hits the mark with her novels. She is one of my favorites and this is a wonderful story. Sebastian alway delivers her stories with the the success Emma’s stories deserve. Always a special delight to listen to these two- can’t go wrong.

The perfect way to wrap up the series!

Sidebarred is the perfect ending to The Legal Briefs series! Dive back into the lives of the couple that started it all, and fall in love with the series all over again. I adored every moment and feel complete closure now.
