Futuristic Dragonshifting Romance
Mede of the Draig knows three things for a fact: As the only female dragonshifter of her people, she is special. She can kick the backside of any man. And she absolutely doesn't want to marry.
Mede has spent a lifetime trying to prove she's as strong as any male warrior. Unfortunately, being the special, rare creature she is, she's been claimed as the future bride to nearly three dozen Draig - each one confident that when they come for her hand in marriage, fate will choose them. When the men aren't bragging about how they're going to marry her, they're acting like she's a delicate rare flower in need of their protection.
But Mede is far from a shrinking solarflower.
Prince Llyr of the Draig knows four things for a fact: He is the future king of the dragonshifters. He must act honorably in all ways. He absolutely, positively is meant to marry Lady Mede. And she is dead set against marriage.
Llyr's fate rests in the hands of a woman determined not to have any man. With a new threat emerging amongst their catshifting neighbors, a threat whose eyes are focused firmly on Mede, time may be running out. It is up to him to convince her to be his dragon queen.
A Prequel Story
About Book 9:
Before four princes and four noblemen found their brides, before the death of the Var King Attor and the threat of the Tyoe miners, there was a time of peace on the planet of Quirlixen. It was not a strong peace, but it had lasted for quite some time between the catshifting Var kingdom and their northern neighbors the dragonshifting Draig. It lasted because both sides had very little to do with each other. It is here the dragons found their queen.

If you could sum up The Dragon's Queen in three words, what would they be?
fierce, funny, fantasticWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes it's such a fun listen and great readAny additional comments?
I love this series and Michelle Pillow's books. This audible was funny and I enjoyed it.If you've read or listened to any of the other books, this puts a few things in perspective ;)
I really liked Mede and Llyr together. I felt that their romance wasn't rushed and that love happened not because of sex, but because they got to know one another. It was interesting to learn a bit about Attor and how this book was influencing to the others. I enjoyed the other characters, and the roles they played.
I enjoyed listening to Mason Lloyd. I always enjoy listening to him and his lulling voice. I find his voice choices for each character entertaining, although different than what I hear, I think he does a great job

Add a fire breathing dragon and regicide and a female shifter who is so set against marriage, this is a story that gives all the background to the House of Draig.
I was given this audiobook by the author for an honest review. I was not compensated or influence in anyway for writing this review.

Oh wow. Well written and fun. I read this book a long time ago first before any other of the Dragon lords story and had no trouble following it. you don't have to read the other 9 first. I love the inaction of the characters, the build in story and the plot twists. Funny and romantic I couldn't ask for more. Now that I have them all in audio well there even better.Oh yes! finally the queen's story wow

Mede in this book was only just getting her wings, she was stretching the limits to show that while she was special she was the same as the men and should be treated no differently. She fought tooth and nail to be her own person and to be recognized as a warrior.
Prince Llyr is wise that he knows in order to win Mede he has to win her heart and let her take the lead on their love. The gods and the fates aren’t going to help him win Mede. It was great to see how Prince Llyr worked with Mede and helped her be independent. He was subtle but not above his own softer ways of pushing her in his direction. What a match they will make and a great royal couple.
Prince Attor of the Var is a catshifter that catches sight of Mede and is focused on her. While we don’t know why it’s the cats versus the dragons, we do get to see why Attor hates the Draig royals and wants to end them by the time he is king. It was stunning to see the depths of the Var royals and how they changed as the book went along.
I really enjoyed seeing this look at how it all began even after it was all over. While this is the 9th book, it can be listened to as a stand-alone before the others.
Loved learning how it all started
