Yes .. the story was voiced in such a way you wanted to reach out and hug those kids and never let them live like that again.

What did you like best about this story?

Over and over she constantly climb up and out of so much cruelty.And had such unbelievable courage and faith to keep going when a lot of others would have gave up.

Heart went out to kids..babies had such a horrifying mother.very sad.but very encouraging.

Great book and story but..

I wanted to hear how Addie was at the end. I loved everything else about it and lived a childhood that was sorta like Regina’s.

Heartbreaking Story

I was immediately engulfed in this story. Regina tells the story so we’ll and with so much emotion. I could almost feel like I was watching from a neighboring house. Her perseverance in life was incredible.

Heartbreaking and heartwarming

The terrible things these siblings endured are hard to read and/or hear but to learn of their perseverance and how they stuck together is so touching...wonderfully written and told by the author...

Great book

This book was hard to listen to but ultimately rewarding. I was inspired to make a donation to a foster care agency in my city.
