Publisher's summary

In the aftermath of the demon invasion, Ilea makes her way to Riverwatch to find a home for a wayward mind weaver (ensuring he doesn’t eat anyone along the way). After traveling, reuniting with old friends, and some light punching, Ilea's life, it seems, is slowly returning to normal. But dire news awaits her upon her return to Ravenhall.

A friend is in danger, and there is work to be done.

The trail leads Ilea to the Empire and beyond, to dark alleys and ancient dungeons, to unknown desolate lands beyond the frontiers of humanity, and to the ruins of a long-forgotten Kingdom.

There are old allies to fight with and new ones to be made; an excellent maker of cakes, a fiery fox with a sweet tooth, and an… unlikely historian. Ilea will need all the help and levels she can get, to beat down both beast and man (and occasionally the weather too), for her enemies are many, and not every fight will be as simple as just another Drake.

A long journey is just beginning, and she may be surprised where it ends. Hopefully, there is some good food along the way…

About the series: Join Ilea as she is transported to a world full of monsters and magic, where power is measured by one's class, level and skills. Watch her grow in power, and recklessness, as she wields ancient hand-to-hand combat magic that can both heal and destroy. This Isekai story has a dual-Class LitRPG system where every skill, class and ability can evolve. Ilea’s tale is equal parts comfy slice-of-life wanderings, goofy jokes and brutal, blood-pumping battles with nightmarish monsters. Join her as she delves into forgotten dungeons, hoards snacks and generally does whatever she feels like.

Great book and even better series

I don’t usually like books with the female is the main character. Mainly because when I female is the main character, there is a lot of emotions and romance thrown into the book for sometimes no reason. This book and series has the perfect blend of action and growth. I can’t wait for the next one to come out.

Another great addition

Another great listen. Pretty much in line with how the rest of the series was written. A lot of action with some slow downs but not many. Can’t wait for the next book to come out.

better than the first two

so I'm someone who's completed the web novel and I got to say that this is a vast improvement over the web novel and they got rid of a lot of the filler so if you didn't like the first two books I think you may like this one I don't want to give too many spoilers but this was really good

awesome story to much swearing for my taste though

great story, glad that the hero went back on her own, but I'm not much into a lot of swearing. I know that plenty of my fellow listeners aren't as sensitive as me and will probably love it, but just to let others know

well thought out

listen everyone, you can't read a litrpg without the mc having plot armor. I'm sorry. it's not possible. but you can be creative, give them some depth, and find an awesome narrator. can't wait until book 4.

123 books listened to in 2023, and this is the #1 series of books I started this year

First I love long audio books, and I love them even more when they are this damn good. Second, while I still do enjoy some female character focused stories it’s harder for me to get as immersed and obsessed with them as a male main character simply because I cannot relate as much to the character, but the writing in this series is amazing and I can’t get enough it. And thinking back I cannot pinpoint one instance of the writing feeling that really sexualizes our beloved heroine. She truly is a hero, and the writer felt no need to try to keep the male audience hooked by throwing in some weird fantasy I’d rather not know about like a few others writers in the genre do. And lastly, while I love pure escapism power thrills where the MC is just an unstoppable force for their goal, what got me really into this was the fact of how real Ilea’s fear feels. She is terrified at the danger she faces. At times traumatized from the pain and destruction she goes through, yet uses that fear as her motivation to be better. Yes she wants to help people, yes she wants to save the ones she loves, but while most of the stories like this have those as main character motivations for the actions they take, very very few truly make that character an actual person really like this. In reality fear can make you do crazy things, but sometimes it’s the only reason you ever made the decision to be better than what you once were.

Last final note if you’ve made it this far, one of the few books that had me drop my listening speed from 1.7-1.75x listening speed down to 1.3x so I could make the book last longer. And huge props to Andrea with the narration, I’ve listened to a few series she’s narrated this has to be some of the best work she’s done bringing the character to life. I’ll start new series sometimes simply because it’s read by one of my top 3s, but at times in the story I felt like I forgot I was listening to Andrea read a book and not simply be hearing Ilea’s thoughts. Truly one of the few 5 star books in this genre. Exceptional writing and voice talent.
