Great Book for Young Pastors of Older Churches/Dioscese

I throughly enjoyed this book and will begin a study of it with my church. If we want to grow like we say, we have to do the work!

A must read for all little rural churches

Candid! This book gives a candid picture of what plagues the rural Church. Every council should read this and prayerfully consider where their congregation fits into the realities described.

Powerful truth

Thankful to go through this with our church as a new pastor comes. Hoping/praying we can fulfil God's will for this body of Christ.

Outstanding

The book met my expectations and in some areas exceeded it. The narrator spoke with clarity and the book gave great details and insight for every church regardless of the staff the church is in.

Eyes wide-open now!

While I am worried and concerned for the condition of my church, I'm energized and encouraged and ready to help make the changes needed to see my church live.

review from a birds eye view

I am there. I pastor of a church that is treading the thin line of survival. Thom Rainer did not build the pages with fluff but instead was very direct in assessing most churches today. even on those chapters of what can a church do, he speaks directly to the point. And it is information the church already knows but simply refuses to do and that is be the church. Pray, worship, serve, love, follow, sacrifice. It is the DNA of Christ and should be the DNA of His body as well.

Amazing and Insightful

Our senior pastor retired after a very long pastorate and the church members need guidance and direction for the journey ahead. I started, after prayerful consideration, by purchasing an additional ten copies of this book to hand out to our leadership.
