Many of the church leaders we talk to are seeking an escape from the not-so-simple life.

Relax. This book is not about another church model. If you are a church leader, you have been exposed to plenty of models, and most of them are on your shelf. Or worse, you have blended a bunch of models into one schizophrenic plan. If that is the case, neither you nor the people in your church are really sure what your church is all about. We see it all the time.

But go ahead, let down your guard. No new program is going to be pushed here. There will be nothing new to add to your calendar. If anything, you will be encouraged to eliminate some things, to streamline. This book will help you design a simple process of discipleship in your church. It will help you implement the model you have chosen. It will help you simplify.

Fascinating

I loved the outline of a Simple Church. The most memorable thing was the section on eliminating areas that holds people back. I am not currently overseeing a congregation; but I pray to share the information I have heard to my Pastor. We must change.

Must listen

This is something every church should listen to. Instead of doing many thing poorly, do a few things with excellence.

Great book, lots of great insights

I enjoyed Simple Church. I thought it did a good job of comparing older model churches with other churches to help pastors and leaders see some areas that likely need improvement. Its never easy to change but if we don't change we aren't going to last.

Thought Provoking

The authors have a lot of great ideas. However, I felt that their research was too narrow. I do recommend it to church leaders.

Simple = Focused and excellent

When a church is simple, it can do a few things well, pouring all its energy into the programs that will help people grow closer to Christ. This book spells it out well - a great read!

great idea, great explantation

Being a Pastor and teacher I greatly enjoyed how the book unfolded including explaining the research behind the process as well as implementation. If you're planting or established in your church it's a worthwhile investment to read and apply.

Every church leader should read this!

Excellent for pastors and church leaders. Many churches and pastors struggle with over complicating ministry. This book focuses on simplifying ministry.

Excellent message, a bit redundant though

Would you consider the audio edition of Simple Church to be better than the print version?

Not sure as I have not read the book, but the narrator is a bit hard to listen to.

Must read book!

any person in ministry or desire to work in ministry, this book will be a true blessing not only to you but also your church. this book will provoke you to analyze your current church methods and programs. help realign your objective to a more efficient way. there is always uncomforteness in change 🙏 but press through people are worth it!
