Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times Best-Selling Author of DEFCON One

When traditional military tactics are no longer enough, new weapons must be found. Scott Dalton and Jackie Sullivan are those weapons - operatives so secret that they will be disavowed if ever caught.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology and with extensive resources, only they can prevent a nuclear catastrophe that could destroy the United States.

They do not lack for targets in their efforts to prevent a worldwide conflagration: Saeed Shayhidi, a billionaire Iranian mastermind of terror; Khaliq Farkas, as barbaric and elusive as bin Laden; and Zheng-Yen Tsung, a powerful Chinese official looking to tip the scales of world power at any expense.

For Dalton and Sullivan, the challenges have never been greater, the threat never more intense. The United State is under attack on multiple fronts and our enemies must know that any such attack will be met only one way...with an assured response.

“Thanks be to the book-writing gods; we have a writer who does what writers are supposed to do—tell a story.”—The Wichita Eagle

I couldn't put this down...

...just about the time you think you know what's gonna happen, bang, it changes. If you are aviation oriented, you will love this. If you are interested in current events, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Terrified

Intresting in that the good guys can't seem to actually stop the bad guy terrorists. The heroes are talented and determined but unlucky. The terrorist are willing to die to kill their enemies and seem to have the advantage against a government with more weapons than focus.

Not a great one

The plot is flimsy- the action at best improbable and some of the dialog......well cliched - let’s go with that!

Endurance unrewarded

I'm not a quiter, but I should have stopped burning my listening time at the second banal exchange between the main characters. The story line suffered from a simple lack of imagination, being used only as a parade of brand names. Honest question: Was the author paid to use them? I try not to spoil, but the ending was the worst part of the whole production. Seriously? The super spy good guys crash their brand new jet through bad judgement to fly in bad weather while their nemesis gets offed in a traffic stop half a world away? Gonna beg for a return!
