Good story and storytelling

Narration was a little meh since most of the people sounded the same, but there are definitely worse. Pretty good story and well written with good characters that hopefully get more developed in future stories.

great action overcomes a dubious story premise

This was a good listen. while the idea the US could be overcome in such a nature as demonstrated in this story send a fantastical, the characters and the action over came. good listen

Fast paced like a racehorse

This book was incredible! I listen to at least 12 books a year while walking the dog, and heard about it in passing in the latest jack Ryan Jr novel. It’s exciting, gripping and well written and read. I can’t wait to hear what’s next!

A fantastic story by subject matter expert.

This story is a well written an interesting look at what it would be like would be like To be on the other end of superior technology and overwhelming might.

Had to laugh, some how Tice’s prosthetic leg and foot developed sensitivity to cold in chapter 29 with fist bite in both feet?

I cut my losses and bailed early

I love the idea of a wounded warrior being a protagonist in a book like this. I couldn't, however, get past the trite political stereotype of a liberal POTUS, and the questions that came up in my mind about the order in which things unfolded. Can't we just ditch the politics and simply write a good story? The plot was a little too fantastical for me, and the political pandering made it way too simplistic. I shut it down right after the Oval Office was destroyed, and found a novel by a smarter writer to listen to.

I really enjoyed it!

This book was not what I expected, and a great surprise.
It was so refreshing to read a book where the USA has been attacked and the hero was not a perfect human specimen.
Looking forward to the next books
