Publisher's Summary

London milliner Vivian Tremont and her American cousin and partner, Scarlett Parker, tip their caps to their beloved shop on Portobello Road in Notting Hill and set off for Paris, where Viv can't wait to teach a hat-making class. But she has another reason to travel to the City of Light: to find the man she impulsively eloped with years ago and have their marriage annulled.

William Graham is not only handsome and charming, but he also has a glamorous job as an insurance investigator who works with priceless pieces of art, most recently a small Renoir that has been discovered in a junk shop. But when both Will and the masterpiece suddenly disappear, it's up to the ladies from London to follow the trail of clues. They'll need to hold on to their chapeaus, however, because someone is a master in the art of deception...

THIS SERIES IS ONE TO DIE FOR

I HAVE READ JENN MCKINLAY'S OTHER SERIES BUT SOMEHOW MISSED THIS ONE UNTIL LASR WEEK. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS, THE SETTING, THE DIALOGUE, THE SHEER CHEMISTRY SO MUCH THAT I BINGED THROUGH THEM ALL. SCARLETT, HARRY, VIV, FIONA, ANDRE, NICK, ALISTAIRE - ALL ARE ENGAGING CHARACTERS WITH WHOM YOU WILL LAUGH AND MAYBE CRY BUT ALWAYS FIND INCREDIBLY ENJOYABLE. THIS BOOK WRAPPED UP A COUPLE OF SUB-PLOTS RUNNING THROUGH THE EARLIER BOOKS, BUT THESE CHARACTERS STILL HAVE A LOT TO DO, ALL WHILE ENTERTAINING THE READER. I WOULD BE AMISS IF I DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE READER. SHE DOES AN OUTSTANDING JOB WITH THE AMERICAN, BRITISH, AND EVEN FRENCH ACCENTS. IT IS A PLEASURE LISTENING TO HER NARRATION. OH, AND I AM A NATIVE TEXAN. WE DON'T ALL WEAR STETSONS AND BOOTS. HAHA (READ THE BOOK, AND YOU WILL GET IT.)

Great series!!

This is one of my favorite series by Jenn McKinlay! I'm soooo sad to see it ending. I do really like this book but the ending kind of disappointed me but that might just be because I'm so sad that the series is over.

I love cozy mystery series’s- borderline violence

I’m sure a majority of people won’t think the violence is too much, but it took me by surprise and was occasionally gratuitous. Otherwise, it was a good story as usual. I hope this isn’t a new development in the series. I will be very disappointed, because I like when there are several books in a series.

Poor recoeding

Many, too many, weird, annoying pauses. The story is great, the narrator is great, unless she is purposefully doing the pauses. This should have been free.

Fine for an 8 yo

Characters are infantile, not even one dimensional. Recommended by audible ...per usual, audible is a useless entity

Get over yourself! Scarlett

Too much about Scarlett and her vow of not dating Harrison and not enough mystery.

Fun series

This is one of the series you should follow through because it gets better. It's an easy listen and entertaining. Great for background for physical work.
