We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference. The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy.

Can you really create your own reality? Real estate artist, best-selling author, philanthro-capitalist, and modern-day Renaissance man Frank McKinney has done just that. During his journey, Frank discovered an eternal truth: To create your own reality, you don't change who you are. You just have to redirect or reignite what's already inside. For that, you need aspiration — an almost otherworldly desire to achieve something high or great.

Publisher's Summary
We live our lives word by word - to build our relationships, to convey our points of view, to object to wrongs done to us or to others, to comfort our children and our friends. We also use the wrong words - sometimes unknowingly - and get ourselves into situations we'd rather not be in.
As Stephen R. Covey points out in his introduction: "Words sell and words repel; Words lead and words impede; Words heal and words kill."
Kevin Hall discovered the deeper power inherent in words after a fateful encounter with a wise shopkeeper in Vienna. When that led to an introduction to an esteemed etymologist residing in a senior home, Hall embarked on a project that changed his life, and has since changed the lives of thousands. Discover the eleven words - as well as the secret word - that when used correctly, can light your path to the lifelong success you deserve.

Highly Recommended and very inspirational.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Hall in a small cafe in Provo Utah, he was so kind enough to take the time to talk with us and we asked him if he had any more books with him that we may buy. He personally signed all of ours and was able to share a few of his favorite from his book. This man was so passionate about what what written it the book, I couldn't wait to read what pored out of his heart. It's very interesting to see where his life experience has taken him, I also bought the audio because I drive all over that I had more time listening than reading. I read the book once and listened to it already going on my 3rd time. Aspire has taught me to really be aware of the words that come from my mouth, mainly the words that I do say to myself. Thank you for sharing with me and with us your fans Kevin. I look forward to the next book you will write. Sincerely, Loralin E.

Power!
The caption on the front of the book Aspire reads "Discovering you Purpose Through the Power of Words". And because this book changed forever the way I look at words and way I look at human potential I did the only think that seemed right. I had to know the "hidden" meaning of the word "POWER". According to Merriam Webster the word power has it's meaning rooted in the 13th century. The origin of power is as follows; "Middle English, from Anglo-French poer, pouer, from poer to be able, from Vulgar Latin *potēre, alteration of Latin posse" The message of Aspire is that anyone is able to be a better person, to live a better life, to help more people they just have to "Aspire" to be the best that they can be! Read aspire and you can also unleash the inner you to be all that you can be. Having the knowledge of the power of words will give you a path to follow.

Your Purpose Through the Power of Words
What did you love best about Aspire?
Kevin Hall effectively teaches a respect for language and the words that enable meaning in all relationships.
Which scene was your favorite?
One the first scenes where he is taught the meaning of the word genshai. Do not do anything to diminish someone else including yourself.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will heal and inspire everyone.

Sounds Like Polyester Self-Help
Talk about falling for a gimmick, hook, line and sinker... Stephen Covey gave a "heart felt" speech for "Aspire" in a promo video which was sent to me by USAirways Dividend Miles program.
I was herded into making a purchase.
Aspire has a totally manufactured feel, and is far too pretentious, from the introduction, to around the middle of the book, where I simply gave up.
I want my money back!

A real stretch
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
An actual point to the book instead of a loose collection of ramblings about words.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I'm listening to "Quiet" right now.
What does Patrick Lawlor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The pronunciations of some of the words.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Aspire?
Nearly all of it.
Any additional comments?
The only reason I listened to it was to see if an actual point was ever made--none ever was made.
