Build up

Dale does a good job to keep the reader interested in the story. I would recommend this to my friends.

Great read another how to get out of a hot spot, fast action whole way.

Interesting Storyline But Slow

This is the first Dale Brown book that I have read. The storyline sounded interesting although farfetched (which isn't unusual in this genre). The story was straight forward with no surprises. It reads like a recipe; this happens, then that, then this. I was surprised that there was very little action until the very end of the book. I expected more action and less description. I thought the story was drawn out and slow primarily because the author was overly descriptive on military hardware and had limited dialogue between characters. And when there was dialogue, I found most of it not interesting.

I think the most disappointing part was that there was no denouement. After the climax the story just ended with an epilogue without explaining much of anything. Still, I think the main character and the series have potential. Sometimes the first book of a series can be a little slow just to build up the history behind the character. I think that may be the case here so I rounded up from 3.5 stars to 4 stars.

If you are a vet or have even a basic understanding of military life this book will make your head hurt. Just gets so much so wrong.

Realism, detailed descriptions and the roller coaster of a good story! Great character buildups and lots of twists and turns.
