Publisher's Summary

The author Sri "M" is an extraordinary individual. His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents.

The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness is indeed a fascinating story.

The bonus for those interested in the secrets of yoga, meditation, and sankhyan metaphysics is that Sri "M" is still living and easily reachable. He leads a normal life, married with two children, wears no special robes and conducts himself without pomp or paraphernalia.

Someone who met him recently said, "I expected a flashy godman and instead I saw a jean clad gentleman with a smile on his face, ready to discuss my problems. In five minutes flat, I said to myself, this is no ordinary man. The peace and tranquility that enters your system is tangible."

I inhaled this book.

I could not quit listening to this book. It was truly amazing and I loved every second of it. I long to meet this author. For some of the seemingly strange portions of the book, I am thankful I was luckily prepped for, because my husband and I watch a lot of Gaia TV. So it wasn't too far-fetched for me. I hope he can come to the us one day. (My family is very concerned at thought of me going alone) In the meantime, I have got to read the rest of his written works.

A true book that gives importance of meditation thru which one can achieve anything from this universe, from this life or past life and see all religions as one ... there are so many fantastic ‘karmic’ examples that opens ones’ eyes.. and path to self realization/introspection...

INSPIRING

It is definitely an inspirational work and demands to stretch one's imagination where fiction, vision and reality meet at their edges.Author's attempt to be inclusive of all religions and spiritual sects in India is laudable. At times, I wanted to just suspend my critical take and was able to hear the struggle author was going through to convey his message using all his faculties ---imagination, vision and story telling. I am sure author will gather lot of following and hopefully will do justice to those who he has inspired.

A book packed with 100% excitement for spiritual aspirant.

A great eye opener that brings all beliefs under one message. All are born from the same Devine force and shall return to it. There is a purpose for you to be born in a particular religion to experience a specific truth and that’s why we have so-many religions despite not knowing that they are created by the Devine for us to have different experience to the realization of the eternal being.

A fascinating journey

Sri M's relentless pursuit as a youth for spirituality and freedom is captivating. The details of a guru-discple relationship is beautifully portrayed in authenticity. There are numerous lessons for anyone who yearns for the true path of sell-realization.

I also have the kindle version to better follow the difficult names and locations mentioned and hard to follow. There are chapters I want to revisit. However, the audible narration is excellent.

I feel like when I first read 'Autobiography of a Yogi' many decades ago...enchanted and so very grateful.
Thank you, Sri M.

Boring..failed to live upto expectations.

I dont understand why the author made a non malayali read this book out..the pronounciation of malayalam words is horrible...and funny. The author himself should have read it out.Besides the story doesnt take u amywhere...heard 3-4rth and left it..could hold it anymore expecting something interesting to happen.
