Publisher's Summary
From the outside, the Delaneys appear to be an enviably contented family. Even after all these years, former tennis coaches Joy and Stan are still winning tournaments, and now that they've sold the family business, they have all the time in the world to learn how to 'relax'. Their four adult children are busy living their own lives, and while it could be argued they never quite achieved their destinies, no one ever says that out loud.
But now Joy Delaney has disappeared, and her children are re-examining their parents' marriage and their family history with fresh, frightened eyes. Is her disappearance related to their mysterious house guest from last year? Or were things never as rosy as they seemed in the Delaney household?
Critic Reviews
"I loved it. An absolute page-turner with all the wit and nuance that put Liane Moriarty head and shoulders above the crowd. Liane Moriarty shows once again why she leads the pack." (Jane Harper)

Lost interest
I pre-ordered this book as I usually enjoy Liane Moriarty's books. However, I lost interest about a third of the way in. I just couldn't drum up the interest in any of the characters to continue on and see what happened to them. Disappointing.

So bad. So so so bad.
Liane's books used to be amazing, so I have no idea what has gone so horribly wrong with her last three books. They're so bad, they're like someone else has written them. This one is abysmal. I kept waiting for something to happen. And the narrator is just awful. I'd seen other reviews commenting on how bad she is, but I figured I'd give this book a go anyhow. What a mistake! Along with the boring story, the narration was the straw that broke the camel's back and made this such a dismal mess of a book. As someone who was once one of Liane's biggest fans, I say to anyone reading this review: don't bother with this book!

This was very disappointing
The reader is the same as usual. I don't like the way she reads. Her speed it too fast and her characterisations are flat. I was expecting a really good listen but it was disappointing and so I gave up on it.

Full of unnecessary details
This truely overblown and unnecessarily convoluted excuse for a book should have been a 120 page short story. Most of the back and forth timeline is irrelevant blatherings about sibling memories that provide little context to the story.
I originally stopped at 3:52 after a windy description of a bike on the side of a road. An uninteresting end to a yawn of a book with the most annoying narration I have been subjected to.

Dissapointed
I wonder if I would have enjoyed reading this book instead of listening to the audio. I could not get past the narrator, she grated on my nerves so much, I was so pleased when the book was finished. I will never purchase a book narrated by this person again,

One sunny August afternoon, the residents of Cedar Close throw their annual summer barbecue. Children play in the cherry-tree lined street, tables are laden with food, and the wine is flowing. For Laurie Mills, it’s her first time meeting the neighbours. And it’s the first time she discovers her husband, Robert, is having an affair. Cedar Close has always been a nice place to live - a quiet suburban street where everyone looks out for one another and bad things don’t happen. Until late one evening, when Robert Mills is found dead in his bedroom.

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I'm determined to succeed. That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time...practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences.
