Cork feels compelled to reinvestigate the crime, but that is easier said than done. Not only is it a closed case but Axel Boshey is, inexplicably, refusing to help. The deeper Cork digs, the clearer it becomes that there are those in Tamarack County who are willing once again to commit murder to keep him from finding the truth.

I like the characters in the Cork O’Connor series. Listening to their recollections, memories, and current adventures is always interesting and engaging. I look forward to Krugers release of another volume in the series!

I love this series and this book especially! It encompasses the whole Fall feeling and it’s a welcomed blast from the past. I so enjoyed this book and it made me nostalgic for the earlier books. This was released at the perfect time of you! Listen and enjoy! God Bless!

I am so excited when a new Cork O'Connor mystery is released! I love this author and have listened to everything he has published. I follow many authors and many series. I'm an avid reader and listener of audiobooks. This is one of my favorite series and that is saying a lot because the competition is very high. It's not easy for me to tell you my favorite authors or series because of how vast my library is and the various types of genres that I enjoy. But this is definitely one of my top five authors and favorite series! This book was nice because the beginning of it was about when Cork was still a sheriff, and their children were younger, and everybody was younger. He was still with his first wife.. then it switches over to the current situation finding out who really killed a case that cork had left 25 years prior. He never fully believed the man who testified that he had killed the young lady. But needless to say, they had their testimony, and the guy went to jail for 25 years.
I love this narrator also and listen to books that they narrate in other series. Don't miss this book or series!
