Good Start To A New Series.

This was a good start. I really enjoyed listening to it. The storyline was nice Oliver and David are a good fit. I am a fan of Silvia Violet and have listened to many of her books. I think she's a wonderful author. Very creative and keeps you interested. The only little complaint I have with the story was Oliver, he was just a little to fragile and scary for me. I mean, ok, it's a cold place, quit complaining, suck it up, get over it, and live your life. He shouldn't have been such a delicate flower. But I still liked him. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5☆s across the board. Michael Pauley, what can I say, he's one of the best voice actors out here. I'm now starting book2 and looking forward to see where SV will take it. If it's anything like her pervious stories we are in for a treat. I recommend this book. In fact, I'm telling my sister to also download it on her adubile. Keep up the good work Silvia Violet!😊

Go Grandma Go. I love how much she pushed ( with love) Oliver to try things out of his comfort zone. Have to love a story that makes you feel all warm and squishy. Hope grandmother has another of her family in her crosshairs for the next book!

Great story

I enjoyed this book it’s well written and the storyline holds your attention. I love Michael Pauley he did a fantastic job narrating this story.

David and Oliver meet by chance at a ski resort

Oliver travels from Miami to Wyoming for a family gathering arranged by his grandmother. David goes to the same resort when his friend Rob goes through a bad breakup with his girlfriend. A turn of events has David giving Oliver ski lessons even though Oliver has no desire to take them. David ends up being Oliver's date for a family evening. Oliver thinks David is straight and just being nice to accompany him. David has dated women in the past but always found men attractive. Can Oliver and David find love? I very much enjoyed the story, characters, and narration.

Loved loved loved it!!!

I loved this book so much. Not many books make me cry but this one did and I love it when I get into a book so much and care so much for the characters that it makes me that emotional. Of course Michael Pauley is my favorite narrator and just love the way he makes the characters emotions come to life.

Great Story

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. Well written story, Michael did a good job narrating it. When Oliver's nana makes him get out in the cold for the family reunion he meets David who is outdoorsy. Great love story.

Great romance

This was the first book in a new series from an author who always provides great stories. Oliver and David were terrific characters who had me rooting for them from the moment David helped Oliver open his hotel room door. The anxious and introverted Oliver needed someone with the extreme patience David exhibited, and I enjoyed watching Oliver grow more confident, even in the short amount of time the book encompassed. I hope to see more of this very sweet and adorable couple as the series continues, and I really look forward to seeing more of the characters of David's town of Anticipation find their own perfect match.
The narration was terrific, as I knew it would be from a performer I listen to often.

A lovely story and a sexy voice narrator

I loved Michael Paulley his voice was too sexy for his own good lol. The story was nice and pretty fast paced.

Oliver: I understand wanting to be a homebody and having judgmental family. But I also know that opportunities to go somewhere new shouldn’t be turned down. So I am glad that despite his bitter misgivings he found a way to open up... a lot. Lol.

David: I liked it loved his patience and understanding thought he was a pretty cool dude. He seemed like a loyal friend to the end, he was a perfect match for Oliver.

Excellent narration; great story

Oliver and David were great! I loved how they met and I loved watching them fall for each other. I was so glad how it worked out. Oliver was a smart and practical guy, and I loved that about him. Great start to a series. Michael Pauley did an amazing job giving life to Oliver and David.

Sweet and Fun....no disaster here!

A fun, romantic story set around Oliver, a bit of a shy nerd, and David, a confident and sporty ski guide, who’s always known but is discovering his bisexuality.

The characters are great and well defined, there’s plenty of hot scenes and a little bit of a panty kink!

I love Michael Pauley’s narration. His voices are always believable and you have no problem telling who’s who. There’s tons of characters and I imaging this is a challenge for any narrator.

Looking forward to listening to the next in the series.

Great writing was elevated to another level by great narration.

Anticipating disaster? Not in this book.

Meet Oliver, He doesn't like snow, sports and after a bad experience he fears socialising. He does however love his grandmother Lucille. He'll do anything for her as she has practically brought him up and given him space and everything he needs.
So he agrees to accompany her to a family reunion in the snowy depths of Wyoming, which fills him with dread and he agrees to take ONE ski lesson.. But something went wrong and he was put in a group lesson for kids.

Enter David. He has his own business guiding trail tours and is taking a well earned vaction when he helps Oliver after he falls on his way to his ski lesson. Oliver refuses to go with the kids group and David offers to teach him how to ski.

Oliver thinks David is straight but gradually comes to realise that he might just like Oliver for who he is and not what he can so for others.

So with a bitchy cousin, and a selection of relatives who always have an opinion on him, Oliver tries to make the best of this trip for Lucille's sake.

This is the story of how Oliver and David meet and fall in love.

I have read Silvia Violet a long time ago and enjoyed her work but it's been a long time and I diodn't know if this would work for me.
But I loved it ........ How could I not , with the dulcet tones of Michael Pauley narrating, It was a given that I would enjoy it.
I want to wrap that man up in a duvet and make him read to me all day long. (With coffee breaks of course ) .

Fantastic New Series, Pauley is Wonderful!

I’m so glad I waited to dive into Silvia Violet’s new series Anticipation till it came out on audio! A sweet and sexy opposites-attract romance, the first book, Anticipating Disaster, is fantastic. Including a cast of amusing supporting characters, there’s plenty of fun and humor in this low-angst love story.

Anticipating Disaster has all my favorite aspects of a Silvia Violet novel: wonderful characters, a creative story, and a romance with tons of steam and a strong hit of kink. And when I say kink, I’m talking lacey panties and some of the best dirty talk I’ve heard in a long, long time. This one’s a winner.

Not one for hook-ups, while David has always known he is bisexual, he’s never found the right man to experiment with. When he meets Oliver he can’t resist the powerful connection he feels, and the two agree to try a “casual relationship”.

The chemistry between David and Oliver is off the charts. Between the sensual lingerie and David’s initiation into the world of gay sex, Anticipating Disaster is smoking hot.

What’s really special is what happens to Oliver over the course of this story. Feeling treasured and valued by David ups his self-esteem and gives him the courage to face up to some meanies in his family. Plus, the courage he finds in the acceptance of the residents of Anticipation inspires him to make some important changes in his life.

Michael Pauley’s performance is absolutely wonderful! There’s a fantastic array of characters in this one and Pauley’s range really shines. (I swear, he does little ole’ grannies better than anyone else.) And I don’t have to tell his fans how beautifully he performs Silvia Violet’s sensual and erotic love scenes. I can’t wait to hear what he does with the rest of this series.

fantastic start to a new series

I'm so excited about this series. Oliver, geeky, quiet and an absolute cutie meets David, an outdoorsman who seems like his total opposite. But opposite attract, right?
The town of Anticipation is like a character in the book, I wish I could vacation there too.
This book is sweet, funny, low angst and absolutely adorable and the series is going to be great.
Michael Pauley is excellent as always. he does funny, sweet, sassy and strong perfectly. and his sexy voice is EVERYTHING.
Can't wait for book two.

Nerdy and adorable meets sporty businessman

I thoroughly enjoyed David and Oliver’s story. Oliver is nerdy and shy. He has a secret...he loves wearing lingerie. He doesn’t think that he’ll ever find someone who understands him. On a family trip he meets David; rugged, sporty, outdoorsman David who runs his own business...and who’s never been with a man before.

I loved both characters. Oliver is so sweet; and I loved how even though he worries about what others might think about his lingerie - he was still being true to himself wearing it. David is open to being with Oliver and all that comes with it.

The narration is good - Michael Pauley can always be trusted to give a good solid performance for any book he is narrating.

Great narration for a fun and romantic story

Loved listening to this story!
Oliver and David had my attention right from the start with interesting individual stories, and family(!), and then when they meet and start on an interesting path together beginning with a ski lesson. Oliver is adorable in his set ways and dislike of the cold and physical activity. His family are hilarious, providing a lot of entertainment in both happy and sad times and David is like his knight in shining armour, rescuing him from awkward moments and accompanying him on family obligations. They clearly have a quick connection and immediate attraction that just builds as we go through the story. I love the two of them together and the people that we get to meet in Anticipation, David's home town. There's even a little bit of manties kink added in as a sweet little bonus.
Definitely a great new contemporary romance from Silvia Violet and I'm excited to start book 2! Definitely a recommended read/listen.
Michael Pauley has done a wonderful job of bringing this world to life with the amount of characters that we get to meet and the romance that brews as we work through the story. Highs and lows are given the same amount of attention and I really fell in love with all of the characters, especially Oliver's Nana. She's a hoot!

A sweet read with an endearing introvert and someone who sees the real him!

I loved Anticipation! This whole book is full of sweetness, humor, & heart. It has a wonderful collection of characters, meddling family and a unique, sweet and secretly sexy introvert who longs for someone to see him. I loved Oliver. He's the perfect mix of smart, quirky and strong and I loved his meet-cute with David and I could feel their connection straight away. 

I loved the small town of Anticipation and loved many of the secondary characters and look forward to their stories. I felt this was an easy and enjoyable bit of escapism and loved the growth these two characters made and how Oliver came to terms with his new self, life, and future! Very sweet and enjoyable!! I look forward to visiting Anticipation again!!!!

Wonderful anticipation

This is a brilliantly, sweet romance between Oliver a gay, socially awkward, sweetheart of a nerd and confident, outdoorsman David who is bisexual but not out at the beginning of the book.
A family reunion is not Oliver’s idea of a good time, especially at a ski resort!That all changes when a mixup with his skiing lesson causes David to offer help and boy do the sparks fly.

I love most of Silvia Violet’s work and this is no exception, I love how she makes her nerdy characters have that sexy something that just the right character sees and falls for. How her jock type characters have big hearts and can be vulnerable. Her style of writing makes it a instant one click buy for me. I can’t wait for more from Anticipation as the men there definitely need their HEAs.
Add in Michael Pauley’s vocal talents and this is a great book to listen to.

Opposites Attract

A fab start to the Anticipation series by Sylvia Violet. We have one cute nerdy guy who has been the target of bulling from family and an ex and one hot lumbersexual who loves the outdoors. They meet at a ski resort and their attraction to each is undeniable, cue some fun times until feelings get involved and things start to get complicated.

Oliver and David were amazing together, Oliver has very little confidence due to how he's been treated in the past and David does his best to convince him he really wants to be with him. David is very loving and this shows from the very start as to what he does for Oliver. They are on fire together, Oilver's kink is something David had no idea he wanted but is fully on board for.

A great holiday romance with a HEA.
