I guess it was my fault I didn’t read reviews.

There are a few things that just do not work with books — which he did throughout most of the book:

1. The book is misleading. It presents the material as someone who ‘investigated’ these experiences. However, this was probably the least subject mentioned. Which leads me to a more important point

2. Everything he speaks of is in a fashion of ‘matter of fact’. For the first 7 chapters, he merely ‘educates’ you on what the after life is and the meaning of life. But not one experience is based on actual...well, experience. None of it was done with people who had actually died and come back. Which leads me to the next.

3. Everything he talks about comes from Mediums (people who supposedly talk to the dead). Never once does he mention exactly who these mediums are or what their credibility is.

4. What is his credibility? He fails to build trust in the reader whatsoever. He simply talks about things as if “that’s just how it is and you’re expected to believe it because i wrote a book about it.”

5. He just goes on and on from one thing to the next like it’s fact. “If you die when you’re young, this is why. If you die when you’re old, this is why. If you are alone when you die, this is why. If if if...”. In other words “I have the answer to every single question ever about death, but never actually experienced this myself.”

6. The first 5 chapters are literally the introduction. I’ve never seen that before. Long prologues or introductions are a No-No in writing, but this crushed them all. I had to skip half the book just to get to the content I purchased this book for.

—-

Conclusion: if you already believe in everything he’s saying (mediums, spirit guides, etc), then there’s no reason to read what he’s saying — because you already believe in it and understand this content. If you don’t believe or are simply skeptical in mediums and you are looking for actual experiences (or real investigations) from people, you need to read something else on NDE’s. This is basically Sunday school class where everyone already understands the content and needs a simple reminder of it.

Sorry to be so harsh. The writing is NOT bad. The layout is not bad, but the overwhelming amount Of matter of fact language and lack of credibility just destroyed any chance of me investing more time into this. Unless you’re writing about your own experience, you need to fill 90% of your content with other people’s words. Other people who have experienced things not through a proxy, but directly.

A must read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It explains so much. It shows a great way to look at life AND the afterlife. It has given me more hope but also perspective on why things or people are the way they are. I’ll keep praying & listening to God & my spirit guides...
Thank you Bob

Interesting perspective on Soul vs Spirit

I have to admit this is the first time I have heard the notion that the Soul sends down facets of itself, as Spirit. Each spirit has its distinctive characteristics and personality and when our physical bodies die, our spirit doesn’t come back to Earth to learn again....but another spirit, a facet of our souls may. The author pay ps tribute to Raymond Moody but not the person who influenced Moody and was the first person to delve into life after life and NDE’s, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. I found that odd and sexist. Moody took most of his ideas from her initial findings and work.

What a comfort this book was. I recently lost my 30 yr old son to an accident. I feel so certain now that we will see each other again in the afterlife. Bob is wonderful at slowly laying out the subject matter and giving g us other books to read as we process of of the new I formation. Thank You

Wonderful to finally understand soul vrs spirit

After my brother took his life, I delved more into spirituality.
I had mind blowing experiences with messages from my brother but a part of me remained still skeptic, so this leads me still to read more. This book is wonderful for people who like a balanced, sane and objective perspective about the soul and about the afterlife. I shall indeed recommend this book.

Good book

I have same idea with this audiobook. Many NDEs describe afterlife differently, like many aliens will describe earth differently, based on which part of Earth they visited. Middle east desert will be described differently with North Pole, Tropical Island, etc.

Brilliant!

I have read many books on this subject and this book seemed to bring it all together for me. The resources that are shared are excellent, many I have read but the next audio book was suggested here... I would say it’s a great place to start too if you are curious as it clearly outlines all the routes you can go down to learn more, and just follow what seems to resonate with you.
I am looking into a reading with a channel as I have never had this experience before- great book!

interesting..

Fascinating but ultimately vicarious. The author has drawn interpretation s from interviews and research but hasn't experienced an NDE himself.
