I don't know whether this is the story of Jeff the autistic individual, Jeff the man of God, or Jeff the medical enigma; but I do know it is the story of Jeff, my son.

Jeff was so autistic, and yet not autistic at all if you used the textbook definition. He had huge sensory integration issues and appeared to be living inside of himself, but he cared so much for God and other people that their needs always came above his own. He had severe speech issues, only spoke one-word answers, but wrote beautiful papers and prayers when given the Canon communicator.

He desired to go to regular school and be normal only to decide normal wasn't so great after all, and he blossomed much more when he got in an adult program at the Intermediate School District. He talked about screaming inside but no one could hear him while on the outside he wrote his name and address every day and brought home the result of his effort every evening only to go back to it another day. As he got older and understood himself more, he developed a split personality. R----d was the autistic guy who couldn’t relate to the world while Jeff was the man of God who kindly tried to put everyone else at ease.

High praise for this mother of an autistic person

This is a very special book that gives the dialoge of an autistic boy who grows to manhood. I learned so much listening firsthand to the struggles this young man and his mother faced. Just a wonderful book!

Jeff Seeger and Lynne Seeger!

Lynne Seegar thank you for your story about your amazing son Jeff Seegar. This story brought me to tears, I can remember when I was a school bus driver back in the day. I had to take kids that were handicapped and I watch kids say horrible things to them and how some people treated them like they weren't human beings. I had to put a stop to it on my bus and one of my kids became an author and wrote a book called "Handicapped people are people too".

This is how I see your son too I can tell you God doesn't make mistakes, just like you being chosen to be his mother who he made to be loving, kind, strong, supportive, and who believed in her son regardless of the challenges with Autism.

Jeff was an amazing person who God made. He didn't let this stop him or slow him down and I believe that Jeff taught people too. I loved how he talked about his teacher who was amazing to him. He had faith, and he knew he was God's child. I will recommend this book so Lynne Seegar can continue to teach and help others who are dealing with a child with autism.

ALL Means ALL!

Every student has a right to a high quality education and access to grade level work. If the student is unable to do the work then they must be given an IEP so that the right modifications can support the student to be able to move forward to the grade level work. I work at an alternative high school were students with disabilities are part of an inclusive learning environment. My best students have been those with disabilities in my computer science and mathematic classroom. Every student, especially students like Jeff has a right to the opportunity to learn. Jeff was blessed to have a mom who loved him so much to be able to support his talents.

It’s not just book; it’s a life manual!

This is a book like no other. I see it as the chronicle of an extraordinary life well lived, told in the eyes of a loving parent who was privileged enough to be selected to raise this incredible person so that he could bless the world with his gifts.

In a strange way, I found this book of a poetic nature, not just because it draws from scripture in places but because the words are so far-reaching. They that wait upon the Lord... the words in this audiobook touched the depths of my soul, perhaps because I too, have an autistic child. It has given me immeasurable inspiration, and motivation; and I feel encouraged. It is amazing to see how someone whom society regarded as "retarded" could impact so deeply and wholesomely in such a short time. Words cannot do justice to the value of this book. I encourage you to read it or listen to it so that you too can experience this incredible journey.

Great book leaving the question, what is normalcy

This book helps us redefine exactly what is normalcy. Autism can impact a person’s social skills, communication, and relationships, however, can excel in other areas. This book gives a first-hand view of a life impacted by what we would ignorantly call impairments, but eyes are opened by the reading of this book. The question is, who is impaired and what is normal? A must-read...

It really is another kind of normal

I love that this author has taken the time to educate the world about her son instead of conforming to the pressure of societal norms. I learned a lot from this book, and it helped me better understand autism which I am thankful for. It really is another kind of normal.

Awesome Guide

It’s an awesome Audiobook about Jeff, a man of God, a person who was so authentic, with a huge sensory of integration.
Jeff was a person who used to living inside himself and cared much for God and the people around him. It’s a motivational story, that allow you to learn about Jeff, about his personality and the way he was living. A good and authentic story, and recommend it to listen once.

Jeff's Journey

I have listened to this book twice and both times I got emotional. I get inspired by Jeff's life journey and his sensitive nature is admirable.

I recommend this book to teens, especially because I have seen there are some teenagers in face of Jeff so if they read this then I am sure they will get inspiration and motivation.

This book is a good one as it is well-narrated and the use of diction is easy to understand which I like it.

Inspirational!

This book was very touching. The poem written by Jeff in the preface, nearly brought tears to my eyes. Often times in society we judge people on what makes them different on the surface, instead of the traits that are truly important. I don’t think Jeff’s story is one I’ll ever forget, and I’m thankful for having the opportunity to read it.

A beautiful story.

I truly enjoyed listening to this audiobook. If you are caring for a child with Autism-you know how difficult the days can be. How we seeing it from their perspective gives you a different stake of wha they truly experience day to day. In this story Jeff clear expression of these experience and his faith gives us hope and teaches us how to live every day being present.
