Story
In the fires of World War II, a child must save his people from darkness...Ten-year-old Uriel has always been an outcast. Born mute in a Jewish village known for its choir, he escapes into old stories of his people, stories of angels and monsters. But when the fires of the Holocaust consume his village, he learns that the stories he writes in his golden notebook are terrifyingly real. In the aftermath of the attack, Uriel is taken in by Uwe, a kind-hearted linguist forced to work for the commander of the local Nazi Police, the affably brutal Major Brandt.

Story
The Bible teaches us the real story of Christmas. The problem is people have taken this story and added onto it. Cultures have added on to it. It’s passed through countries, and they’ve tacked on their little spin. We have thousands of years of a Christmas that is built around legends and myths. The Christmas we know is, in places, more a fairy-tale. It’s an inspiring one for sure. But a fairy-tale, nonetheless. This book helps us slow down and unpack the layers so we can see just how beautiful this gift really is.

Story
Shabby and lumbering, with a face like a Norfolk dumpling, Father Brown makes for an improbable super-sleuth. But his innocence is the secret of his success: refusing the scientific method of detection, he adopts instead an approach of simple sympathy, interpreting each crime as a work of art, and each criminal as a man no worse than himself… Here you will find the complete Father Brown stories in the chronological order of their original publication. The Innocence of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 1, The Wisdom of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 13.

Story
Common people. Maybe you heard their names in a childhood Sunday school class. They're not often the champions or the go-to sermon illustrations. They probably didn't stand at the foot of the cross or even hang next to Jesus on one of their own. But they pepper the pages of the Bible, reminding us that we're not alone. Just like you and me, these ordinary people stumbled and struggled. They faced their own sin and came face-to-face with a God who not only wipes it away, but also makes the common extraordinary.

Story
The simple approach that has helped millions of people take back their lives from chronic pain, illness, and dysfunction. What you may not know, is that one simple lifestyle change can set you on the path to symptom freedom. As highly processed, inflammatory foods become more and more available, our bodies have struggled to adapt. Evolution spent millions of years curating a body that is unprepared for the high fat, animal product based diet that many people follow today. Don't despair. As the saying goes, when in doubt, simple is better!

Story
Every one of the parties working on a project has their own interests, which many times are conflicted with the interests of the project itself. Nothing affects the progression of projects more than this conflict of interests, and yet, the theory of project management disregards it entirely. The Manager’s Dilemma is a groundbreaking project management book. It explains why the Critical Path and the Critical Chain methods fail time and time again, and paves a new road to project efficiency improvement, through the Theory of Constraints and Game Theory.

You will also learn the truth behind the character of Vlad the Impaler and decide for yourself if he was a ruthless, bloodthirsty ruler or a politician, tactician, and national hero.

Good!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I am not a religious person so I was apprehensive as to how I would feel about this book. However, I was impressed with it. I put the real-life religious aspect aside and just pretended it was another story. It worked and I loved the book! The way the author built Goliath was very impressive. He made David feel very sympathetic and like an everyday person, rather than a hero. The narration was good but I did have some issues with the pacing in a few parts as well as the voices. Overall, I am very happy with this book.
