The Intelligence branch sends a freighter crewed with Blazers, special forces troops. All Angie has to do is lead them through the holes. Responsibility for the explosions and wreckage will be theirs. But war is complicated, and even the most unwilling of heroes can be forged in its crucible.

A gifted story teller with human flaws<br />

I have read everything this man has written , some books more than twice. His ability to describe an entire universe while telling a specific story reminds me of the immortal Heinlein. His understanding of science and warfare are impressive. His understanding of human nature and human interaction however is flawed. While this is not the best example of his work I found the story entertaining and an example of good old fashioned "hard" science fiction unlike most of the generic fluff that is found under that label today.

I was swearing in the middle and crying at the end

Thank you, Mr. Williamson. This book generated the same feelings in me that Band of Brothers and Schindler's List did, although no fictional story will ever come close to the power of the true horror of the latter. But Angeleyes comes close, probably because the society it describes could so easily come to be within our lifetime (minus the space travel probably). Samantha Prescott's narration was very good, particularly her accents, although her male voices were not very male-sounding. The depth of emotion she imbued to Angie's words was moving.

Not bad MZW book - lot of odd sex stuff

It's your basic MZW book. He tries adding sex to it. Could have just as easily left it out.

Worth a credit.

great book

a different view of the freehold story. very well written. the characters pop out at you. great book. look forward to whatever is next.

For Freehold fans, and fans of strong women

Sci-fi fans of good space opera will enjoy this tale from the freehold. Some harsh events show the dark side of war. Worthy addition to the series I wil be listening to again in the future.
