Story
When the pandemic hit, nobody was expecting it to be as bad as it was. The economy barely survived the lockdowns, but it staggered along until civil unrest shattered people’s hope of better times to come. With it being an election year, more and more Americans were waking up to the idea that they truly were behind the curve. The hope was if they did not get sick, run out of money, or could avoid violent mobs, they would be fine.

Publisher's Summary
So you think you're afraid of the dark?
Twenty-two-year-old Beth Ann is content with her small-town life. That is, until the day America’s electric grid is destroyed by terrorists. What starts out as an inconvenience quickly becomes a catastrophe - not only do the lights stay off, but cars won’t run and phones are dead. The world screeches to a halt. Without communication and basic supplies like food and water, widespread confusion spirals into deadly chaos within days.
A wealthy opportunist saves the townspeople with his secret cache of food and easily takes over the desperate town. But the darkness that follows is even more devastating than the electrical outage. When Beth Ann finds herself on her own, she must do whatever it takes to survive.
Alone is a companion novel to the best-selling Equipping Modern Patriots Series, written in coordination with survival expert and preparedness consultant, Jonathan Hollerman.

A Good Read for Everyone
Although I have read fictional accounts of an EMP strike before, this was the first book in this particular series that I have actually encountered. I enjoyed it for both the storyline and for the practical information it gives throughout the story. The narration is very good, as the narrator gives distinct voices to the various characters, but not in a cheesy, over-the-too way. Everyone should read this to to be prepared for something that may soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.

Loved this Book!
I absolutely loved this book! Yes, I was the narrator, but I selected to work with the author because I could really connect with the story. I found the book to be well-researched, engaging, informative, and down-right entertaining! I loved that there was a faith-based element that was more a part of the core belief structure and personality of the character and less of an aggressive declaration of religion. As a result, this book transcends genres, making it a perfect blend of action, emotion, and purpose. The writing style is appropriate for younger audiences as well as captivating for adults of all ages. I loved working on this project and am so excited to work with CM Hollerman on the second novel of this series :)

A terrifying future with believable villains
All the electricity in the small town of Ynesta, PA has gone out. Cars won’t start, except really old ones with no computerized parts. Lights don’t work. There is no electricity, no cell phone service, no land line service, and nothing that relies on electricity works. The small town residents sit and wait, waiting for the power company to fix this.
That never happens and not just the city of Ynesta, but everywhere around Ynesta, is thrown into a state where only the prepared survive. And Mr. Andrews is the most prepared of all. After looting, destruction, and chaos, he quickly forms a group of men willing to do what he asks and soon has the small town residents, those that are left, doing his bidding. He controls the food and other resources of the city and thus he controls the citizens of Ynesta.
Will Beth Ann and Megan be able to survive under these new, harsher conditions? Will Gary be able to keep Beth Ann safe and maintain a sense of independence when someone else controls so much? Or will they succumb to the panic and greed that affects those around them? Find out, by listening to this story, narrated well by Jillian Yetter.

So Many Emotions
This story was written so well, and it had me feeling so many emotions. I went from shock to sadness and couldn't keep myself together. If you want an emotional story, then this is perfect for you. I promise you won't be disappointed. I found the way the narrator read this to match perfectly with the story, and her voice tone was great. Also, I felt that all of the trials, I would never wish any of them even on my worst enemy. I promise you won't be disappointed in this book, so you should buy it today.

Interesting premise, but very poorly executed.
I got through the whole book, somehow hoping that at some point a character would find strength and grow. Nope. Even till the last page the main character is as helpless, unaware, and generally stupid as she is on the first page...and so are most of the others.

The book starts As a sequel From a Series That I am fond of but not in love with There are numerous Parts That are hard to believe There are numerous parts that are easy to believe and get caught up in So overall It is a good book Entertaining And fun I'm interest To see more of the characters and the development of the characters from the original EMP stories I do even be more interesting If some real modern day at fice Could be planted into it Such as The best size for a raised bed garden The best crops to plant in 1What kind of fertilizer To use And How to heat water Using the sun And gravity So the Book series is a flipping the modern patriot So far we get an Lehman's view appointment firearms And a novice's approach to bodyarmor To tactic And some psychological impact As well as The fact that the author does not hold human virtual very high regard That I don't either There is an awful lot that this shudder Can help teach And then it would be truly Equip in the modern patriot Kind of like Max brooks It's ambi survival guide Give

Have none
Horrible book, not worth it's money. The performance isn't good, and it is also places where the recording isn't 100%.
The story is so thin, like a dust. Or like a lot of words, a romance in the middle of a power cut, starving people and a dictator of a city major. Some pervert sex, some kiss and if things go to bad - pray.
Really? Is this a joke?

Great narration
Jillian Yetter did a great job of bringing the characters to life, giving them each individual voices so that I was never confused by who was speaking. Her voice was clear and I would recommend her as a narrator.
