Great Prequel

This story was a prequel to the actual series, but it can be appreciated as a stand alone story also. I listened to the first book of the series, "Personnel: Dossier Feldgrau (The Faction, Book 1)" and Catalina was my favorite character in the series, so it was great hearing more of her story. I totally enjoyed this tale. Jess Trepanier does an awesome job as narrator. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Get Comfortable and Listen

I really didn't know what to expect when I started this one. I originally thought monsters. Maybe cryptids. I couldn't have been more wrong. Oh, there are monsters all right. Just not necessarily the ones you think.

It's well-written, with good descriptions and dialogue. There's enough action to keep you going long after you should have been doing something else.

Read it or listen to it. The narration is good on audible. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

Great story with an even better twist!

The story itself was incredible, I love its components! Everything adds up into a spectacular finish!

Catalina

I enjoyed this little short story, Catalina is one tough cookie, I liked the location because my brother in law is from Brazil, & I like reptiles, my only real complaint was the narrator, her voice was a little bit annoying, and she made some typos as I was following along with the printed book, overall I give the audio book 4 stars, the narration 3 stars & the story 5 stars. I will probably read the printed next in series book.

Enjoyable short read

Alligator Season: The Redacted Files, my first read from author Tyler Hanson. Well-written, the characters as well-developed as can be in this short work. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make a reader get invested into the characters and thereby the book. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Jess Trepanier's narration added to the book's enjoyment. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Excellent prequel

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book, and I’m glad. I’m not sure I would have read it if I had. It was very good, lots of excitement and a full story. While I have a lot more questions about the main character, I expected that, since it’s a prequel. I look forward to reading the series. If the whole series is all action like this one I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but I’m definitely going to find out.

Weird Start But Good Ending!

Not at all what I expected when I started, but in the end an interesting story with an unexpected twist in the end. It was a short story that made some long leaps, but it held together well. It would have been good to have read a prequel to set the stage for the lead character and the story line - but - then the ending would not have been as good. :)
