Sixteen bloodless bodies. Two teenagers. One impossible explanation. In this edge-of-your-seat mystery from number one New York Times best-selling author Kendare Blake, the truth is as hard to believe as it is to find.

Summer 1958. A gruesome killer plagues the Midwest, leaving behind a trail of bodies completely drained of blood.

Michael Jensen, an aspiring journalist whose father happens to be the town sheriff, never imagined that the Bloodless Murders would come to his backyard. Not until the night the Carlson family was found murdered in their home. Marie Catherine Hale, a diminutive 15-year-old, was discovered at the scene — covered in blood. She is the sole suspect in custody.

Michael didn’t think that he would be part of the investigation, but he is pulled in when Marie decides that he is the only one she will confess to. As Marie recounts her version of the story, it falls to Michael to find the truth: What really happened the night that the Carlsons were killed? And how did one girl wind up in the middle of all these bodies?

Beautiful

An amazing novel. Edge of your sear writing. Mesmerizing! Blake does not disappoint. I don't often refer to novel as "beautiful" but All These Bodies is a masterpiece of fiction. One of the best reads in a long time.

Good, but the ending isn't great.

Loved the plot of the book, but it doesn't really give answers at the end. The narrator keeps a great pace, but it is hard to tell who is talking sometimes. I loved the writing style of the author and will look for other books by them.

An intriguing story

This was a nice read. I enjoyed the characters of Michael and Marie very much, and there was a certain Mayberry charm to the setting.
I wish, personally, that there were more of Marie's details shared, but I think it fits the character of Michael not to include all the gory bits into his story.

Superb

What an amazing book. Told as a memoir from one of the main characters and is a (highly factionalized) true crime type tale… with a little twist that only super author Kendare Blake can deliver.

This story had me guessing from the edge of my seat from page one to the last page.

decent story, subpar ending

I enjoyed listening to this story as it progressed through the book. However, I kept waiting for a climax that never came. honestly, I can't imagine that this ending was what the author had originally intended for it to be.

then, there's the ending

The story draws you in, slowly at first, then faster. The narrator does a superior job of keeping the tone of the story.

as to the almost - ending, the author tells you what it is several times throughout the book. The author also tells you what the ending is if you have the strength to listen to it. and then it just

Good but meh

There was so much potential for a better plot, thrill, and ending. It’s a good book and preformed pretty well, but I could sit and think of 10x other ways this plot could’ve taken that was better.

Letdown :(

Booktok rec strikes again poorly 🙈

This could’ve went in such a better direction. It had the premise to be so good and I wanted to like it, but the entire story was rather bland? I was hoping for something scary, intense, maybe even potentially violent? There literally was none of that! Not to mention the basically weird cliffhanger? What was that?
