Loved the beginning of a series.
Great world building I want to go to this island.

Many trails to keep one wondering who did the murders. Great pace of this story kept my interest.

Enjoyed all the characters. Liked the tie in with prohibition with present day. Excellent use of Macanac.

Twists & turns throughout

A cozy story that keeps you guessing throughout the book never a dull moment. Love the narrator. It’s easy to forget that the narrator is one person.

Good,but slow to start.

It started very slow. I almost quit. I stuck with it and I am glad I did. You get to know the character and get invested.

great mystery!

Wanted to read this book because of the setting, and was not disappointed. The story and characters were good, too. In fact. we booked a room in an historical hotel for an upcoming trip vs a new chain hotel because of Allie's struggles!

Definitely recommended if you’re curious about “Cozy Mysteries.”

First of all, this isn’t my genre. I’m not even the target audience. That being said, I loved this little story. This is perfect for when you just need a fun story that’s not too deep with normal people as characters. The fudge recipes throughout the book are interesting to listen to as well. I don’t cook or bake, but it makes me want to at least try.

The narrative was great too. She was consistent, and her inflection as the main character both speaking and her thoughts was perfect.

Great mystery to unravel!

Nancy had a great storyline with plenty of complicated twists and turns to keep me off balance to the very end.
