Publisher's Summary

Aleron Eastaughffe is a billionaire griffin who knows what he wants.... Namely, a gorgeous city penthouse, a life of luxury, and the respect and admiration of his peers–all the things he’s come to expect as one of the Eastaughffes. But when Aleron finds himself connected to a rag-tag group of shifters and forced to work alongside the most awkward yet utterly captivating human witch in all the realms...he realizes he might want something very different after all.

Spencer Walsh is a witch who knows where he belongs.... And that is alone, in his remote cabin, where there are no annoying people around to give him strange looks when he spends his days reading or to complain when he gets hyper-focused on research and forgets they exist. But when an old friend needs help researching a mysterious set of runes, Spencer joins forces with a group of shifters–and one gorgeous, provoking griffin–and learns that the world might just be more accepting than he thought...and more dangerous than he ever dreamed.

If Aleron and Spencer want a chance at a future together, they’ll have to let go of what they think they know and face some hard truths together.... The truth about the runes and the magic they hold.

The truth about what love and belonging really mean.

And the truth about how much they’ll compromise to make each other happy...and how hard they’ll fight to keep each other safe.

Loved

I loved Aleron and Spencer. Meeting Spencer in the previous book and seeing Aleron's initial impression, I knew this book was going to be a good one. Their relationship was very unique and went from friends to lovers as each figured how to exist in the worlds they created for themselves. I am loving this series!

I love this series

I love the Chosen Universe. I haven't read all the books yet as I have a tendency to hop around, but will get them all read. We still have the overall arc of the big bad who is doing horrible things. We do find out what Nio is & he at least gets what is coming to him, though I would have liked to have it drawn out. Aleron & Spencer made such a cute couple. Spencer is so shy & unsure of himself & Aleron is what he needed to pull him out of his own head. I can't wait to find out who the Oracle is. I have some ideas, but I might be way out of base. Spencer is exactly who Aleron needed. He really was not living a happy life, it was rather cold. Yes he has all the money he wants to buy whatever he wants, but the one thing he doesn't have is love. And he didn't even realize he was missing it. Ms. Blake has made such an amazing world & I can't wait for the next book.

So good

If you liked the other books in this series, this is a must listen. its so good. the mystery gets bigger and the love of this pack grows substantially. Macy Blake writes a great MM story and series. Michael Dean brings this series and all of its characters to life and gives them all such individual personalities. well worth the credit and your time to listen.

Excellent

I’ve never enjoyed a Macy Blake book so much! The more books of the series I read, the more I’m enjoying the heck of it.
I was invested not only in the romance but in the mystery/investigation as well. I really can’t wait for the next book to be available in audio.

Superb!

I've waited impatiently for both the book and audiobook since Aleron appeared in Hell to Pay and it's been so worth it!

Excellent narration as is expected of Michael Dean.
