Powerful thrilling, exciting, and chilling read

Any additional comments?

I really liked this audio when I think ahead to the future I can see this being it. The story goes into the aliens and the issues they had and have with them. When I think about the time they come to earth I really hope I am not here to see it. I do not see any good coming out of it. The author goes into issues that could be touchy from the dead to being a live, the world is not as we know it today. States may or may not be there. The things they do with items we hold precious will blow your mind. Really the whole story is wonderful planned down to the last detail the whole book is mind blowing. I have no trouble picturing this as our future.

Mr. Kafer does a great job in his narration he has an agent voice that really pulls you in as he becomes part of his characters. His voice at first I didn’t care for because it sounded so agent like but I came to understand that is how it needed to be and grew to love it. It is a very strong voice that pulls you in making you forget you are listening as it becomes more of a movie. There are no background noise, no volume changes, and no repeats of working. His character voices are wonderful from his males to his females. His computer voice is so real just like you would picture it. He really brings the danger alive, as well as the excitement from each new obstacle that is overcome. Mr. Kafer puts a lot of emotion into his audio’s giving the reader a wonderful listen. His voice and tones never leaving you guessing you know just what each character is feeling from their excitement to their anger. His performance is outstanding giving you a clear, clean crisp audio you get lost in.

My heart went out to Agent G what it must feel like not to know who you are. Having to overcome so much and learn everything all over again. Than as he felt he was part of the military at one time I really felt for him and what he had become. There is a love interest as well as confusion on his part and on the computer chip in his mind. The world this author built seemed so real as well as the characters. This was an audio I couldn’t put down from the many different things the future holds and the new things it brings as well as the danger, excitement of all the twist and turns that are just so thrilling and at times chilling. You will never see California or Tennessee along with a few other states the same again. As I listened to this it remind me of the movie V where the aliens wanted and took what they wanted. This is how I see the future if they ever make it here.

I was a little confused at first of what a walk about was but it wasn’t long before the author brought to life just what it entitled and the danger it brings. This is a story of starting over, meeting your past and future head on, reality as well as the danger it brings. It is a story of hope and death, making a difference and just what the military means. What if there was no military who would save us? People become to set in their ways over looking issues but one man sees the future and knows the day will come when we must fight with all we have to keep everyone alive. There are those that feel this fight will never come as they wear their rose color glasses they are in for a rude awaking.

I was drawn from the first page as G is born, how he felt, his confusion and his fight to stay alive and bring justice to a world he doesn’t know. There are things one should never forget, one is how to fight keeping your love ones safe. One man gives his all and may die to save us all. It is setup for the next book in the series at least I hope there is another one. It really hit home for me how easy one gets use to the life we live and forget what we need to remember. I totally was invested and loved this plot, the characters that seem so real. I can hardly wait for the next book I wonder who it will be. There are others on the walk about will they be as interesting as G? I can’t wait to find out what this author has in store for us.

A thoroughly enjoyable technothriller

Agent G: Infiltrator is a fast-paced technothriller about a futuristic assassin appropriately named "G". G's job is to kill people for money. He has to do it for 10 years and they will give him his memory back. I can tell you one thing, this is way more than a story about a sci-fi assassin.

My honest "blurb" explanation of this book is Jason Bourne meets Hitman with a little bit of an overarching feeling of Memento. And to be honest, I'm proud of that explanation. There are parts of this book that felt like they were pulling from the Bourne books and movies while other parts felt like they were expanded on from the Hitman video games (I never saw the movie).

C.T. Phipps can write. Wow, can he write. He was able to make me laugh one second and be completely engulfed in another theory the next. G was easily one of the most memorable characters I've read in a long time. He had an attitude that I can relate to and every time he was snarky or said something smart I had a good chuckle. A lot of books like this can be so serious throughout making them feel longer than they are, but the comedic breaks throughout this really made the pages and hours fly by.

Tie that with the incredible narration by narrating phenom Jeffrey Kafer and you have a hit. Kafer was perfect for this book. I listen to a lot of books and this was easily one of the best fits I've heard in quite some time.

Every time I thought I had this book figured out I was wrong and it threw me for another loop. There were a few times that I thought I'd figured the ending out -- nope! Not even close, nice try Brian.

Overall, Agent G: Infiltrator was an incredibly enjoyable technothriller sci-fi assassin book that was fun. You can't say a lot of books are fun... but I enjoyed the heck out of it. If you enjoy conspiracy theories, the singularity, cyborgs, and good old clean assassin fun -- Agent G: Infiltrator is definitely for you.

I was given a free copy of Agent G. This has not affected my review in any way.

I'd give this 6 stars if I could!

When I heard this was coming out, I checked the blurb, being a big fan of this author. I got super excited about the premise, and couldnt wait to get it. Well, I got a copy and listened to it in one sitting. It blew me away, it was that good.

The story revolves around Agent G, an assassin who works for the Society, a charity front that arranges high tech assasinations for large sums of money. If you have the money, they have the assassin for you! Assasins, named A to Z, are mindwiped, and are told they will be well paid and get their memories back after 10 years of service to the Society. This is the scenario G finds himself in. All the agents are cybernetically enhanced, both mentally and physically, and have beyond imagination black technology, real secret squirrel stuff.

This is the situation G finds himself. After he is ambushed at the Boston airport by a rival organization, the Carnivale, during a recall of all Society agents, it is discovered the Society has a mole in its midst. The mole is uncovered, and G is tasked with infiltrating the Carnivale and assassinating its leader, the Caesar and his daughter, a killer assassin in her own right. What commences is a wild ride of betrayals, plans within plans, gunfights, killer cyborg duels, torture and discovery for G, as he discovers more about the past that was wiped from his mind. In the end, he finds who he can really trust, and it's not who he expected. He has to decide what he really wants to be, and if the price for being that person is worth paying.

As always with a CT Phipps book, the story is very character driven. Whether its G, who is conflicted on many levels, his handler Marissa, with a shady past G is only becoming aware of, Persephone, the shadowy ice queen director of the Society or even the Caesar and his children, the characters are well defined, their actions making sense in context with their characters. They are fleshed out in subtle but important ways, being much more than just two dimensional cardboard cutoouts sterotypes of spies, assassins and villains. The setting is interresting, with locations and action occurring around the world. The dialogue is also crisp, swinging between serious and snark easily, depending on the situation. The story never lags with unneeded exposition, keeping a taut thriller feel.

As far as narration goes, Jeffery Kafer was definitely at his best for this one. Whether the voices were male or female, cyborg, computer, Italian or a variety of American accents, Jeffery nailed them all. He brought each character to life, giving them a vibrancy you get really attached to. His narration of the story never lags, keeping a good flow and is never monotonous. Overall, I would have rated the whole effort six stars if they had that rating. As it is, get this book if you like sci fi or thrillers!

Bigger on the Inside

I like big books and I cannot lie. Typically I go for length, like at least 12 hours. So a 6ish hour book didn't really entice me. However, I'd really been wanting to "read" something by C.T. Phipps and you can't ever go wrong with a Jeffrey Kafer performance.
Wow!!! I'm so glad I got over my length issue and dove into this book. Phipps packs a punch with this story and he reeled me in immediately.
The story is crammed full of constantly moving story driven by interesting and engaging characters. G is compelling and some how I got sucked into rooting for an assassins and bad guys.
I was sad when it ended but not disappointed. Phipps obviously knows when to walk away from the keyboard and not fluff up a story just for length.
I'm diving into the next book immediately and not judging by length this time. Apparently small packages really can be entertaining.

Amazing !!!

I was truly not accepting such a good written book.
C. T. Phipps have actually done a remarkable job with this book, and Jeffrey Kafer narrated it perfectly, I’m really awestruck on what was accomplished here !
Great story, easy to understand and enjoyable, everything we would love to have in all books.

Not much to say only that I fully recommend this one to all.

Ive received this book for free for an honest review and I believe that I’ve done so.

What would you do...?

The main character, G, a cybernetically enhanced superspy finds himself facing crossroads that lead him to a life of action, intrigue, betrayal and assassination. This book is the turning point of his existence as a “Letter”. While I listened to Mr Kafer masterfully enunciating the agent’s thoughts I find myself wondering what would my decision have been in those situations. C.T. Phipps made me care about this apparently despicable character to the point that I wanted G to succeed, no matter the cost.

I loved the book and I’ll be listening to the rest of the series.

Surprising!

So, I don't want to give anything away, but this book was an anthem about twisted loyalty, deceit, lies, and conspiracy. Superbly convoluted and well-executed. This was my second time listening and I've already downloaded book two. If you like shadowy agencies, whether or not they are government sanctioned, filled with intrigue and assassins, snag this series. It's epic, and the narration is perfect.

A mixture of amazing concepts for a great produc

Take the letter agents if MIB, with a splash of Jason Bourne, a mix of the echo clones (spoiler) and this is what you get. Multiple groups of elite assassins competing with each other and changing the world. Rogue agents, intrigue, meddling politicians, twists and turns that will leave you begging for more. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

An adventure worth repeated listens

I have listened to other C. T. Phipps books and this is my favorite. Well-written story with captivating characters, convincing action and plot, and a slap-in-the-face, diabolical ending. Jeffrey Kafer delivers a memorable performance, a perfect fit for the main protagonist, setting the tone for the entire book of characters.

Excellent!!!

Agent G is a "Letter". He works for The International Refugee Society and is basically an assassin. Thing is, the Letters have "given up their families and their memories for ten years of service with the promise of a life of luxury awaiting them". Usually the Letters are happy to do their job, but Agent G know's there's more. He just want's to do the 10 years and go back to his life. But how can he? He has been augmented with technology that people kill to get. And his life is about to get even worse when he is sent to infiltrate an organisation that is a big Rival to the "IRS".

I've been a fan of C.T. Phipps for a while now but this book just made him one of my favourite authors!! He manages to make each book unique, entertaining and fun. This had me on the edge of my seat but also sniggering a lot!! He puts his own stamp on his books and really makes them unforgettable.

I really liked Agent G. He is mysterious, arrogant, and intriguing. I liked seeing his story unravel and finding out more about him. He was well written and developed. In fact, one thing this author knows, is how to flesh out his characters and make them easy to like. Even the bad guys are ones you just can't help but like!!

The plot was fast paced and intense. I so enjoy reading the worlds this author comes up with!! They are all so varied and entertaining. He throws in curve ball after curve ball and really makes the reading experience so much more enjoyable. You can never tell where the story is going.

Jeffrey Kafer is always able to bring any book to life. He is always clear and concise and has such an array of tones and cadences that make for effortless listening.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Brilliant start to series!

Wow, Charles knocks it out of the park again with this assassin book. Action and mystery throughout sprinkled with his tell-tale dose of wit and sarcasm throughout!
Can’t fault the story and I’ve just downloaded book 2!
As for the narration, Jeffrey is amazing too. His characters are easily distinguished with great voices and he’s a perfect pairing for Charles’ books being able to pull off the dark, seriousness of the situations as well as switching to the snide (enough to make you smile!), sarky remarks.
Really love this combo!
This is my honest opinion of a free review copy.

Who am I

How would like to live your life thinking you are human and named G and there are 26 of you who have been trained to kill and assassinate person who are in power, or not maybe a person in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now I did have a bit of issue starting the audible but as slowly got going you find yourself hooked and you can not stop listening and hoping for the good guys till you learn the truth that they are not the good guys.
Now the main character is named G and there are in total twenty six like him both male and female and their names goes from A to Z. In you are in a time were big companies and mafias control everything from your life to to where you work or live. This group are trained assassins who who are hired to kill and destroy and they are the best. Thru this audible you live the life of G with his interaction with an assistant named Malissa who works with him thru cybernetics implants in the brain so they can speak to each other and not be heard. They travel world wide to commit these murders and G is like the third best in this group and reason he is like the others they all have been told they agreed to be trained, their memory wiped, the pay was excellent with a promise that in ten years you can retire and leave with your memories replaced and the past ten years erased but is this true? Alone the way you meet many colorful characters some who family have made their children into assassins like him also with robotic parts and implants and taken the human nature or soul out and left a shell.
In the end G finds the truth and go after the organization to destroy it thinking he was doing the right thing due to the women he loves named Malissa tell him so and he does not realize till it to late he was being used and lied to to accomplish a personal goal of a corrupt US president and Malissa and he will not accept it and many people are killed and some of the his fellow Letter. G is a good person but it seems after he finds out the truth about himself and the other letters he can not accept the truth from anyone even thought their proof he keeps going on blindly and it due to the truth who he is!

Yet another fantastic series from C. T. Phipps

Yep the book might be a short, but it didn't feel like it was. I'd rather that than a load of meaningless padding that bores me.

The book is a serious view of a hidden agency that with secret dark technology keeps it's edge and the ordinary public unaware of it's task. Thankfully C. T. Phipps humour is also present and keeps it from getting too dark. I've read a number of other of his books and this one makes a great change to the supervillainy series. In this serious tech is your power as opposed to supernatural powers

As G your protagonist discovers himself and his memories, you discover that his employers might have their fingers in a few more pies than you'd first think.

Just thrilling

I'm always in the mood for CT and Jeffrey as a combination. They work perfectly together. (some copied from the box set review, as I listened to these, and then read the end book) lol

So for this first book kicks off with perfect tone, pace and snark and being an all action kinda gal, it totally suited me. I know CT can write, and that made this series extra special.

G is an interesting character, doesn’t know who he is, where he came from, bar an assassin who is wrapped into a very well built and believable world…. But his world kinda falls apart and we get to witness all of it in high octane action! Of course everything has to go wrong, a mole, people wanting our MC dead!

Set out to do a job, G instead finds himself on a different path with betrayal, and lots of layers, including even inner discovery (sigh). At first I do have to admit that G is pretty cold, he is good at his job and that’s the point. But as the first part unfolds, and he’s thrown from one thing to the next, we start to see the difference, subtle, and perfect character development as he learns inside the world he inhabits.

You won't regret picking this series up, It's great fun. Seriously.

A great story

I enjoyed the authors Supervilliany series so thought I would give this series ago. So glad I did as I really enjoyed it. I loved everything about it from the action, to the sarcasm, to the many plot twists, it is packed full of entertainment that will have you wanting more, good job there is a second book in the series. The characters were great and you can't help but like them even if there are killers. The plot is very similar to a few movie plots but with C.T.Phipps unique stamp imprinted all over it it is a must listen for any audio book fan.
Agent G is just a letter with no past, a man designed to be an assassin. But what happens when that is not enough any more? Or when the little piece of evidence leads you to believing that your father has been kidnapped by the enemy? Or that the enemy has started eliminating other letters, fellow hitmen, the people you call your friends. And one of your own is giving that information. For Agent G that means taking on a new face and going undercover in the very organisation that you are trying to take down. But at what cost? And is it to high to pay?
I really like Jeffrey Kafer as the narrator . I have listened to a number of books read by him and enjoyed them every time. His voice was designed for this kind of action packed story with his comic timing.

A fun ride.

A good laugh having come across G in the Supervilliany crossover. Plenty of nods to Bond, Hitman and Bladerunner and Altered Carbon... and pretty much every assassin film going (minus Leon).

A private conglomerate as murder for hire - where could that go wrong when taking on their mafia equivalent?

Everywhere really with a hefty mix of kiss kiss, boom boom and the odd Terminator vibe thrown in. It could do with a tad more backstory to the tech - eg where the black tech come from, beyond it being controlled and the dangle of memories for G to quest for among the carnage and betrayal.

You do wonder where the next blow will come from and it is a nice break from the tweeness of Alastair Maclean and the micromanaged detail of a Clancy brick. It straddled it well as an audiobook, cherry picked the good stuff and took the listener on a fun ride. Ideal for a listen at the day job.

A really good Techno Spy novel!

This was a really great techno spy book, where the twists and action just kept coming! To avoid spoilers I can't say much, but this was areally good book!
I can't recommend it enough!
