Publisher's summary

It is 1989 and the disease resulting from the testing of experimental bioweapons has ravaged much of the world. The UK and Europe are in chaos as the virus spreads uncontrollably. The US, nominally arriving in force to offer military and humanitarian assistance to their allies, are posturing dangerously with the east and failing to unite over the common enemy of humanity.

As command and control are ramping up operations over the British Isles and Europe, the remnants of Johnson's Yeomanry and the scattered troops consolidate their position on their island stronghold and begin to look to the future, but events beyond their knowledge and control force them into desperate action.

Peter, alone by choice and oddly thriving, finds himself suddenly responsible for the life of someone other than himself. Adapting with ease, the young boy begins to show the difference between nature and nurture.

Elsewhere, other survivors stake their own claims to land and resources, but the inexplicable swarms of undead threaten to gather and dissipate constantly.

Awesome!

Devon C Ford is definitely one of the most under rated authors out there. As a former US Marine I enjoy the peek into my comrades on the other side of the pond. Can’t wait for the next one!

Amazing series! Talented writer & Narrator

I’m on book 4 in the series - I wanted to be sure the series would hold up before encouraging others to listen/read.

MAN DOES IT HOLD UP! Awesome series!

I love series like Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars (pre Disney more than post), Ember War, Rise, After It Happened, etc. I love strong male characters and strong female characters - but I REALLY love men to be chivalrous because they respect and appreciate women. This girl won’t ever snub her nose at a man doing things he was genetically equipped to do better than me.

Who will be glad they took a chance on this? Anyone who loves to care about the plight of the characters and feel anticipation and adrenaline during military/battle footage.

It’s extra helpful if a reader likes Post-Apocalyptic stories w/ zombies.

It’s pretty gory and graphic in the zombie bits. I don’t mind it though.

So far no gratuitous sex or drug use.

Just gets worse! Wait for the 1 credit box set

So as I said in my reviews of book one this author has potential there is entirely too much repeating of information. This is a 6 hour book and like the last book almost an hour is spent recapping what happened the chapter before at the beginning of each chapter! THEN in this book the over description of insignificant details is a thing.. you just start hearing a drone as the author runs n and on about the specific shade of brown and how it came to be ..blah blah blah I mean who cares.
The narration is good. Really the only thing that keeps you from stopping and demanding your credit back.
This is like when you had to turn in that essay you blew off and you need 500 words so you elongate with as much trivial BS as you can get away with somewhat staying on topic.. I won't be buying book three.
This author for sure thinks his audience has Alzheimer disease.. or maybe he does. Either way don't waste the credit.
It won't be long before all these will be in a one credit box set
