Publisher's Summary

Pete is six months pregnant when he finds himself in the middle of a bank robbery gone bad. He’s sure he’s going to die, but a handsome alpha State Trooper bursts in to save him at the last possible moment. Pete is half in love with Ozzy before the week is out - but what kind of alpha wants a pregnant omega?

Ozzy Morris is a cold case detective. He’s also a member of the SWAT team. When SWAT is called out to intervene in a bank robbery turned hostage situation, Ozzy meets the omega of his dreams. He barely cares that his perfect omega is already six months pregnant, and finding out that the gun used in the robbery is tied to a twenty-year-old cold case just gives him reasons to reach out.

That twenty-year-old cold case, though, turns out to be the tip of an iceberg made up of organized crime, dirty cops, and families so twisted they can barely be called families at all. Ozzy and Pete love each other, but can that love survive a new baby, their families’ opposition, and criminals who will stop at nothing to keep their operation running?

This stand-alone gay romance book contains sexually explicit content and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. This book is approximately 80,000 words, has a happy ending, contains mpreg (male pregnancy), and does not end in a cliffhanger.

Good story with a caring alpha

This has always been my favorite book of the Cold Case Squad series. Pregnant omegas finding a loving alpha are not very common in mpreg stories, and Pete is especially likable with his steel backbone and indepence, while Ozzy is endearing and lovable with his kind, mellow personality and his devotion to Pete. The book is entertaining with its moments of action, reading like a cop procedural, and the villain is credible. The narration did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. The perfomer's voice was very pleasant to hear, and the characters were recognizable, however, the actor tended to emphasize the last word of every sentence, falling into a rythm that threw me off, and it also made the physically intimate scenes between the MCs not exactly sexy to listen to. The perfomer made the investigative parts of the book sound realistic, like a cop show, but did not hit the emotional tones the love scenes needed, and it ruined the mood for the romantic setting. Overall, I enjoyed the book in parts, with the police work being exciting, but the romantic parts were a definite miss for me.

Loved it

I really loved it, I'm sure I'm going to listen to it again and again. Well written by the author, I really liked how he feature the characters, and the fact that we find characters from the other books of the series. Loved the way it was read.

Ozzie & Pete

Ozzie is all Alpha and is drawn to the pregnant Omega, Pete. Pete is used to doing everything on his own, but he won't say no to the attentive Alpha. They are opposites in many ways but work well together. I enjoyed how they worked through their issues.

Enjoyable Story - Decent Narrator

I enjoyed this story though I wish there was a bit more difference in the voice as he narrates from the different POVs. I read while driving to and from work so sometimes it's a weekend before I get back to the book and I would forget who's perspective I was listening to until there was dialogue. This author does a good job of crafting stories that capture your heart and make you wish the best for the characters. The narration was a little choppy in places, but overall it was a good audio book.

Criminal, action packed romance

Wow! I mean wow! This is not your normal romance story. For starters, the omega is already pregnant. The alpha is swat, so everything is full of tension and danger! The narrator and the writer took me on a roller coaster where the main problems are not the pregnancy or the romance, but everything else!

A Perfect Union

I really liked Adrenaline Rush. Ozzy and Pete are perfect for each other, but have more than their fair share of obstacles to overcome. They meet when Ozzy rescues Pete from a bank robbery , hostage situation. Pete is six months pregnant. Ozzy is not the father. Pete’s family and Ozzy’s job are big stumbling blocks on the way to a lasting relationship. I like the way Pete and Ozzy’s relationship develops in spite of all the problems they face. Take the time to listen to Adrenaline Rush. You’ll be glad you did. Aiden has done another outstanding job, with this story. I also very much enjoyed the narration by Barney Parkwynne.

The series is a great one

Ozzy finding Pete in the beginning was one in a million and if Pete was a different type of person the relationship probably would have fizzled. Pete had more backbone than it was shown sometimes. Later you found out he was a photojournalist who went to some heavy places. It seemed as if Ozzy didn't know or just forgot because of the current work Pete did. Overall the make a great team.

Wonderful!

This book is great! Low angst but you still feel for the characters. The narrator did a good job as well. I was able to follow between the characters easily. I would definitely recommend!

Great second story

I've not listen to or read book one and no issues with understanding this book

I think what I enjoyed most was that even though we were pregnant at the beginning of the story with another Alpha kid, that didn't define or upset the balance.
Yeah, it was brought up. But unlike other stories that have a ready pregnant character it didn't create this huge issue.

These two were just trying to find the footing during a difficult time, not having the best luck with love or relationship before.
Then we have a serial criminal in the mix. Not a great combo to start anything.
But it works.
And I really enjoyed it.
Not a huge fan of the narrator, but I've heard way worse. And it was not bad enough that I wouldn't listen to him again if the right book came along.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Book 2: Ozzy

Cold case detective Ozzy Morris, is saved by Pete at a bank robbery. Pete is 6 month pregnant but has mad skills. Ex military and now a photographer. Ozzy doesn’t stand a chance. He is enthralled with this beautiful and fierce omega. But as an Apha he is bound to underestimate his partner. Great dynamics between the MC, some awful family members, a dangerous case and beautiful babies in this story. The voice, wow! So deep and versatile.

Wonderful

This is a really wonderful book to listen to. I enjoyed following Pete and Ozzy as they meet under a stressful situation and later decide to develop a relationship even though people around then think it’s a bad idea as Pete is already pregnant by someone else who is not in the picture. When Ozzy’s work starts to affect Pete and then leads to his kidnapping after Ozzy unravels a corrupt network. They make a life for themselves with some surprising people in the mix.

Perfect Partners

Adrenaline Rush is a great audiobook. I really enjoyed Buried Passion, but this one is even better. Pete and Ozzy are a perfect match. I loved Ozzy for wanting 6 months pregnant Pete. Then he takes on Pete's newborn as his own too. Pete is full of spark and determination and really loves his alpha. The author even manages to make some of the villains likeable and in this book, it works! The plot is also in depth enough to hold my attention from start to finish.

The narration is usually very good too. It is clearly read and the timing is just right. Perhaps a little more excitement in the voice is needed, particularly in the bedroom scenes!
