Modern life throws a variety of stressful situations at us. This book aims to show stress in a different light - as a natural bodily reaction to help us through certain situations. Although our bodies produce the "fight or flight" reaction when subjected to stress, it often seems inappropriate - our increased heart and lung rate and the chemicals injected into system by the brain can cause illnesses such as asthma and diabetes. This text invites us to improve our brain-body connections in an approach to healthy living based on science.

Story
Since the introduction of dietary guidelines calling for reduced fat intake in the 1970s, a strange phenomenon has occurred: Americans have steadily, inexorably become heavier, less healthy, and more prone to diabetes than ever before. After putting more than two thousand of his at-risk patients on a wheat-free regimen and seeing extraordinary results, cardiologist William Davis has come to the disturbing conclusion that it is not fat, not sugar, not our sedentary lifestyle that is causing America’s obesity epidemic—it is wheat.

Great adrenal fatigue primer!
I really enjoyed this adrenal fatigue primer! It teaches you easy ways at home to determine whether you have adrenal fatigue and gives many ways to help treat it. Because doctors don't treat you holistically, they will give you a bandaid for your symptoms rather than addressing a serious disorder. I enjoy this author's approach and love the narrator's work. I learned a lot about my own adrenal fatigue, and I look forward to correcting the fatigue I have battled with for years. I received this audiobook free in exchange for my honest review. I truly enjoyed the book and narrator.
