From affair to second chance at happiness

Absolutely loved this book and how the story unfolded. Yes, it started with an affair but it leaves out all the cliches associated with it and moves at an even pace. It sucks you right in and has you cheering as things unfold.

Real life up close and personal...!!!!!!

This is a must for anybody who can manage to look at the concept of fiction looking a great deal like real life. The fact that the WLW engage in sexual activity that is 'cheating' is such a realistic concept and so seldom is it so graphically explored in WLW books. I appreciate that you took that leap and may I say it was an awesome book. I am so grateful for the Audible code I was provided. It was refreshing to see a book that actually mirrors some folks lives in ways we choose to leave in the wreckage of the past in many WLW books. I loved the reality and the lack of fluff or la, la that a lot of Lesfic contains today. It is sad that folks seem to think that books of this nature need content warnings due to the behavior being a little too real. I guess I am really just excited to have had the opportunity to listen to so much real life and the angst and joy from facing our messes and working for a solution. I also found the compassionate yet realistic manner you dealt with depicted in the addiction sub story well done. Adrian J Smith my hat is off to you for an awesome read. Lois Ridge did an outstanding job of giving all of the characters life and emotions that make this audio book such a treat.

A Vocal Audiobook for me

A vocal audiobook because early on I found myself getting wrapped up in the story and characters and talking to them ,sometimes loudly with strong warnings. The warnings were often unnecessary because the story took different turns.

I really enjoy a book that has a good story with depth of characters and aspects beyond Person meets Person and lust is all. This book has that with a realistic view of human traits we experience in so many ways…

Very juvenile.

This one was hard to finish. The amount of eye rolls that it caused gave me a headache. It’s hard to believe that the characters in this story are adults let alone a high powered lawyer and someone becoming a mother. The dialogue between them would have been more believable if it were written as two teenagers in high school. It didn’t help that the narrator’s voice made them sound juvenile. I wouldn’t recommend spending the money on this one.

Fantastic story

This is such an amazing story of two people falling in love and becoming a family and having a future together and you get to hear their incredible story from how they meet to ending up together

This was a good book

Good story line, well written. Believable MC, even dealing with a side of sexual harassment and I will not spoil it too much.
Narration was very good as well.

Lovely age gap romance

I really enjoyed this story and the narration. I had read this book prior to the audio and the performance is really good. She does a great job with inflection and emotion throughout and while the voices of characters aren’t that different, they are just enough for me. I loved the story and the journey that Bellamy and Payton take. A meeting and act of kindness that lead to one unforgettable night turns into a challenging professional life shortly thereafter. Bellamy has to overcome maintaining the status quo of her life to get everything she thinks she wants. Payton is focused on how she can take care of her family and the fight she’s prepared for to gain custody of her nephew. Both find in each other a person who understands them and wants the other but will Bellamy be able to overcome the hurt and uncertainty that has built over the years? I hope you enjoy this offering from Adrian J. Smith and Lois Ridge as much as I did. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Street and realistic

I really enjoyed this story for its realism. The narration was spot on. The pacing of the developing relationship flowed very naturally. A solid five for me.

Sweet & Steamy romance

I loved this audiobook even more than I had planned to, it Exceeded expectations. The story flowed easily and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of angst filled longing between the main characters.I also liked the character progression of both Payton and Bellamy, I think they both grew significantly in their own respect, both while they were around each other and separately.The narration was perefect and brought the story to life in the best way.Each character had their own individual tones and personalities (including the unlikable one) and it added a vibrant feel to all the scenes, most noticeably in the sizzling hot chemistry between the MC’s which was a thrill to hear. 5/5 this will definitely be one of the ones I keep coming back to.

Very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book. I was worried that there’s was cheating but to be fair Adrian has dealt with the situation very well. With good strong characters and a wonderful storyline I enjoyed it so much. A great performance from Lois.
